Emotecraft Keybinds, Fast Menu Wheel, and Reset Options

guide

Emotecraft lets you trigger emotes with assigned keys, pick them from a wheel, and wipe either single slots or every binding at once. Everything below is handled through the mod's own screens and hotkeys rather than any crafting grid.

Assigning a Key to an Emote

Start by choosing the emote you want. Once it is selected, click on it to proceed. The keybind option is where you attach a key so that pressing it plays the emote you picked. When the key you choose is already taken, Emotecraft asks for confirmation before replacing what was there. One prompt warns that you are about to overwrite an existing keybind, and a second prompt explains that a different emote already holds that key, asking whether you want to swap that emote out for the current one. Confirm to accept the change.

If you would rather not click through a list every time, the fastmenu2 wheel is the place to register an emote. Open the wheel, select the emote, and add it there.

The Fast Menu Wheel

The wheel is a radial menu of emotes you have placed on it. To remove one, right-click that emote while the wheel is open — the slot is cleared. Note that clearing a slot this way only empties that position; it does not touch your key assignments.

Stopping Emotes and Movement Thresholds

A bound key can also be used to halt playback. The action is Stop Playing Emote — assign it through the corresponding hotkey in the controls menu. This matters when an emote is set to keep running: if the yratio value (Y-Axis Stop Threshold) is large, vertical movement may not be enough to end the emote, so a stop key becomes necessary. The related validationThreshold (Validation Threshold) decides how much positional offset counts as too much, and the tooltip for it describes exactly that limit. A separate tooltip notes that 0.22 corresponds to walking speed, and that with a sufficiently high value the emote will not stop on its own.

Resetting Keybinds and Settings

Two reset actions exist. One is titled Reset all emote keybindings, and its message asks whether you truly want to reset your emote keybindings. The other is titled Reset Emotecraft settings, with a message asking whether you really want to reset your Emotecraft settings. Both present a confirmation before anything is erased, so you can back out.

Wheel Appearance and Visibility

You can switch the wheel's look with Use Old Emote Wheel Style, and there is a Use Dark Emote Wheel option. Show Icons Only (If Available) trims labels down to icons when the emote supplies one.

Other Options Worth Knowing

Load Built-In Emotes controls whether the bundled emotes are present. Hide Emotes From Muted Players keeps emotes from muted players out of view. Play Emotes in 3rd Person changes the camera for playback, and Use Front View for 3rd Person faces it forward. Enable Perspective Mod Redux Integration only applies while third-person is active. Always Validate Received Emotes is a client-side setting that forces validation on every incoming emote rather than only from untrusted proxies. Auto patch emotes to stop smoothly adjusts JSON emotes whose stop tick was left at default. Open emote screen even if camera detached overrides the usual condition when another mod controls the player. Show Hidden Options (reload required) reveals unstable, testing-oriented settings. Export Emotes in JSON and Export Emotes in .emotecraft binary produce files, with success or failure messages reported afterward.
