EnderChests: Personal and Shared Ender Storage
EnderChests extends vanilla ender chest storage. This guide covers its three recipes and the version oddity in its build numbers.
Three recipes, one item
1 page, 1 item, 3 crafting recipes — identical on both builds.
Three recipes for a single registered item usually means alternate routes or variants that share a page. For an ender storage mod that most likely covers different colours or channels rather than tiers.
Why ender storage mods matter
Vanilla gives every player one shared ender chest inventory. The moment a pack has more than a few items worth moving between bases, that single inventory becomes the bottleneck.
A mod in this category multiplies the number of independent ender inventories, which turns a curiosity into infrastructure — and it does so without any machine, power or worldgen.
The version numbering is inverted
The 1.21.1 build is 1.0 and the 1.20.1 build is 1.4. The older Minecraft line is four minor releases ahead.
That is worth checking before assuming the newer line is the more mature one — a fix present in 1.4 may not yet be in the 1.21.1 build, even though both carry the same three recipes.
No blocks registered
The mod reports 1 item and no blocks, which is unusual for something described as a chest. That normally means the placeable form is registered under a shared page with its item, so do not read it as "there is nothing to place".
No structures, no dependency
Nothing generates in the world and no partner mod is needed. The mod is self-contained and can be added to a save in progress.
Where to start
Craft one and check what the other two recipes produce — with only three recipes in the whole mod, reading all of them takes seconds and tells you exactly what the storage model is.
Versions
1.21.1-1.0 on NeoForge and 1.20.1-1.4 on Forge, three recipes each.
How to judge a storage mod's registry
One item and three recipes tells you nothing about capacity, and that is the point: an ender storage mod's usefulness is in how many independent inventories it exposes, which is runtime state rather than registered content.
The same is true of vanilla — one ender chest block backs an inventory per player, and none of that appears in a registry count either.
Scale
1 page, 1 item, 0 blocks, 0 structures, 3 crafting recipes, identical on both builds at 1.0 (NeoForge, 1.21.1) and 1.4 (Forge, 1.20.1).
