Crafting Penumbral Weapons and Radon Lamps

guide

Penumbral equipment and Radon illumination in Endless Biomes allow explorers to wield throwable disks and light End structures with colorful luminous lamps. As players traverse the Penumbral Forest and explore towering Arkan bulwarks, harvesting native flora and volatile gases provides both combat throwing weapons and vibrant lighting systems.

Harvesting Penumbral Disks and Throwing Weapons

The hanging vines of the outer End islands produce aerodynamic disks that can be weaponized.

Exploring the Penumbral Forest reveals hanging Penumbral Vines. Breaking these vines provides a chance to yield a Penumbral Disk. Disks can also be scavenged from treasure chests inside Resistive Bulwarks.

In a crafting table, raw disks can be reinforced into two distinct throwing weapons:

  • Battle Frisbee: Place 1 Penumbral Disk, 1 Anklor Shell Plate, and 1 Resistive Grease in a crafting grid. This crafts 1 aerodynamic Battle Frisbee that can be hurled at hostile mobs to inflict heavy physical impact damage from a safe distance.
  • Frisboom: Place 1 Penumbral Disk, 1 TNT, and 1 Resistive Grease in a crafting table. This produces 1 explosive Frisboom. When thrown, the disk detonates upon contact with targets or terrain, providing ranged explosive clearing power against swarming Shiftlings and sentinels.

Collecting Radon and Constructing the End Altar

Deep within the outer End islands, ancient Arkan structures contain vials of volatile Radon gas and bottles of pure void essence.

Loot chests inside Arkan Bulwark and Radon Bulwark structures frequently yield Radon canisters. Additionally, searching Arkan ruins allows players to uncover rare bottles containing Bottle of Void.

These materials unlock the mystical End Altar:

  • First, craft Shattered Obsidian by combining 1 Bottle of Void and 1 Obsidian in a crafting grid.
  • Next, arrange 5 Shattered Obsidian, 2 Radon, and 1 Bottle of Void on a crafting table to construct 1 End Altar.

The End Altar serves as a ritual focus within Arkan ruins, anchoring void energies for high-tier dimensional interactions.

Crafting Radon Lamps and Architectural Blocks

Radon gas also serves as a potent luminescent element when sealed behind glass panes.

To create custom light fixtures, players first manufacture Arkan Glass. In a crafting table, place 1 Arkan stone block in the center and surround it with 4 Riftite Shard crystals harvested from Shiftling mobs in the Twisted Reef biome. This yields 4 blocks of durable Arkan Glass.

Radon lamps can then be crafted and customized with dye:

  • Place 1 Radon, 1 Arkan Glass, and 1 Dye of any color in a crafting grid to produce 1 colored Radon Lamp.
  • The mod supports all 16 dye colors, including Black, Blue, Brown, Cyan, Gray, Green, Light Blue, Light Gray, Lime, Magenta, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, White, and Yellow Radon Lamps.
  • Existing lamps can be redyed at any time by combining them with a fresh dye item.

For decorative masonry, Radon can also be infused directly into stone. Combining 6 Arkan blocks with 3 Radon crafts 3 Encased Radon blocks, while combining 7 Arkan blocks with 2 Radon produces 4 Encrusted Arkan tiles with bright radioactive veins.
