Enhanced Attack Indicator: Settings Overview and How to Open Them
Enhanced Attack Indicator is a Minecraft utility mod that adds extra on-screen indicators for combat and other timed actions, and all of its options are handled through its settings interface rather than through crafting or items. This guide covers what each setting does and how to reach and move around that interface.
Opening the Settings
The mod is configured entirely through its own settings screen. Open the interface using the corresponding hotkey, which you can set for yourself in the controls menu. Once the screen is open, each option listed below appears as a toggle or choice you can adjust directly. Changes take effect as you make them, so you can turn an indicator on, check how it looks in game, and return to the interface if you want to change it again.
What Each Setting Does
- Show Block Breaking Progress — displays how far along you are in breaking the block you are currently mining, so you can see the remaining progress instead of judging it by eye.
- Show Ranged Weapon Draw — displays the draw progress of a ranged weapon such as a bow, so you can tell when the shot is fully charged.
- Show Item Cooldowns — displays cooldown timers for items that have them, keeping that information visible on screen.
- Show Food & Potions — displays progress for food and potion use, covering the time those consumables take to apply.
- Disable Pickaxe's & Shovel's Attack Cooldown — turns off the attack cooldown indicator specifically for pickaxes and shovels, so those tools no longer show it.
- Disable Axe's Attack Cooldown — turns off the attack cooldown indicator specifically for axes.
- Attack Cooldown Priority — controls how the attack cooldown indicator is prioritized relative to other indicators, letting you decide which display takes precedence when more than one could appear.
- Show Sleep Progress — displays how far along you are in sleeping, so the progress of that action is visible.
- Show Shulker Fullness — displays how full a shulker is, giving you a read on its contents at a glance.
How to Use the Interface
Treat the settings screen as a list of independent switches. If you want the attack cooldown indicator gone for axes but still shown for other weapons, enable Disable Axe's Attack Cooldown and leave the pickaxe and shovel option alone. If you want cooldown information for items generally, keep Show Item Cooldowns on. The two disabling options act as exceptions to the broader cooldown display, so you can fine-tune which tools show it.
The display options are separate from one another: block breaking, ranged weapon draw, item cooldowns, food and potions, sleep, and shulker fullness can each be switched on or off on their own. Turn on only the indicators you actually find useful, and leave the rest off to keep your screen clear.
Attack Cooldown Priority is the one setting here that is not a simple on/off choice. It decides the order of importance among cooldown-related indicators, which matters when several could be shown at the same time. Adjust it if the wrong indicator seems to take precedence for your play style.
