Etherium Material, Armor, and Tools in Enigmatic Legacy

guide

Etherium material, armor, and tools form the core of Enigmatic Legacy's late-game power curve, offering gear that outclasses anything built from ordinary metals. Despite the misleading name, etherium is a physically solid substance, and the old stories about it turn out to be accurate rather than exaggerated. The metal resists fire and lava to the same degree netherite does, while lasting considerably longer. It also hums with stored energy that seems to demand release in whatever form its wielder can devise.

Where Etherium Comes From

Etherium is tied to The End. It is never found naturally inside the crust of end islands, yet it clearly belonged to an ancient civilization that once tried to settle that dimension. Those people are long gone, so their methods cannot be asked about directly. The working theory is that they learned to harness enormous quantities of enderic energy and used it to force this mineral into physical existence, which would explain how they manufactured it. The full process remains unclear, though examining what they left behind may answer more questions. For a mage and blacksmith, the material's described properties are worth pursuing even if the tales sound too good to believe.

Etherium Armor

Etherium armor is not literally the ultimate protection, but it beats anything else that can be crafted or claimed. Once worn, the full set turns completely invisible and weighs so little that its bearer can forget it is equipped at all, until something interacts with them or the armor. That lightness does not weaken its defense. It is harder to penetrate than netherite and shrugs off even devastating blows with barely a mark.

The individual pieces resonate with each other. Wearing all four at once pushes that resonance to its peak, manifesting a shield of pure energy. This barrier stops most projectiles, softens hits it cannot fully block, and pushes back attackers. Sustaining it drains a great deal of energy, so it only appears when the bearer is badly wounded despite the armor's protection. At full health the shield vanishes and the etherium gradually refills its reserves until it is needed again. The shield resembles the one a Wither raises at half health, hinting at a connection between etherium's power and that creature's nature, though the clues are not enough to complete the story.

Etherium Weapons and the Broadsword

The Etherium Broadsword looks heavy but handles more easily than a smaller ordinary sword, at least for its user. Enemies will not find its strikes easy to endure. It sits between the other two etherium weapons: less nimble than the scythe, less crushing than the waraxe, but drawing the best from each and landing reliable, painful hits even against heavily protected targets. Its ability is purely combat-focused. On command it launches the wielder backward, away from whatever they face, covering real distance. That makes it useful for retreating between attacks or dodging lethal blows, and a short cooldown keeps it viable even in close, frantic fights. Like the other etherium tools, it is far more durable than any earthly weapon.

Etherium Pickaxe and Astral Breaker

The Etherium Pickaxe has a plain design but enormous capability. Breaking one block instantly mines a 3x3 area, letting its user carve enormous tunnels with ease. Its power can be suppressed when single-block work is needed. It is extremely durable and effective against a wider range of materials than normal pickaxes, handling glass and ice better.

Classical etherium tools are strong, but they are not the ceiling of what the metal allows. Using the enchanting power of Astral Dust alongside more arcane ingredients, some tools can be merged into one multi-purpose instrument. The Astral Breaker combines pickaxe, axe, and shovel functions, cutting through rock, wood, and dirt as effectively as the separate etherium equivalents. Its only drawback is a smaller area of effect than the Etherium Waraxe, which rarely matters. It is also slightly more durable than other etherium tools.
