Samurai Dynasty Weapons, Smithing Upgrades and the Torii
This guide covers where Samurai Dynasty's equipment comes from on each version, and the three structures it places.
Smithing or crafting, depending on your version
The mod's gear lives in different places on the two builds:
- On 1.21.1, 153 Smithing Transform recipes carry the equipment, with 91 crafting recipes alongside
- On 1.20.1, it is the other way round — 180 crafting recipes and only 34 smithing ones
That is not a small rebalance. Roughly 120 recipes changed which bench they belong to. If a weapon is not showing up where you expect, check the other station before assuming it is missing.
Create integration exists only on the older build
Mixing and Splashing each hold a single recipe on 1.20.1 and none on 1.21.1, and Smelting holds 4 against none. Those are small numbers, but they mean the newer build has no Create hooks at all.
Stonecutting is the stable part
23 recipes on 1.21.1 and 22 on 1.20.1. For a mod with 71 blocks, that covers most of the decorative palette and behaves identically whichever version you run.
The structures are all or nothing
Torii generates at a spacing of 180 with a separation of 80 — one of the rarest structures anywhere on this wiki. Shrine is far more reachable at 60 and 50. Spirit Stone Boulder sits at 3 and 1, which is dense enough that it reads as scenery rather than a structure.
The practical consequence: the boulders will teach you the mod exists, the Shrine is a reasonable target, and the Torii is something to go looking for only if you specifically want it.
Items and blocks
166 pages across 95 items and 71 blocks — a fairly even split, with the items covering weapons and armour and the blocks covering building material and shrine furniture.
A guidebook ships with the mod
The mod includes a 23-entry in-game guide, so the mechanics behind the gear are documented where you can read them in play.
Versions
0.1.6 on NeoForge (1.21.1) and 0.0.51 on Forge (1.20.1) — and as above, treat them as two different mods where equipment is concerned.
