Crafting Withered Blackstone Slabs, Stairs, Walls, and Chiseled Forms
Withered Blackstone can be worked into a full set of building shapes, and every one of them comes from the same base block. Slabs, stairs, walls, and the chiseled variant each have their own recipe, and most of them can be made either at a crafting table or with a stonecutter. Knowing both routes lets you pick whichever fits the materials you have on hand.
Withered Blackstone Slab
A 
Withered Blackstone Slab is the smallest of the variants and the cheapest to produce.
- Crafting: arrange three
Withered Blackstone in a shaped recipe to receive one slab. - Stonecutting: feed a single Withered Blackstone into a stonecutter to receive a slab.
The stonecutting option is worth remembering because it converts one block directly, while the crafting recipe consumes three.
Withered Blackstone Stairs
Withered Blackstone Stairs follow the same pattern as most stair recipes in the game.
- Crafting: a shaped recipe using six Withered Blackstone produces stairs.
- Stonecutting: a single Withered Blackstone in a stonecutter also produces stairs.
Again, the stonecutter path trades fewer input blocks for the same output, so it is the more economical choice when you have a stonecutter available.
Withered Blackstone Wall
Withered Blackstone Wall is made the same way as the stairs.
- Crafting: six Withered Blackstone in a shaped recipe yield a wall.
- Stonecutting: one Withered Blackstone through a stonecutter yields a wall.
Because the crafting cost matches the stairs exactly, you can plan your block usage for both at once if you are building a structure that mixes the two.
Chiseled Withered Blackstone
Chiseled Withered Blackstone is the one variant that does not start from the full block. Instead, it is built from slabs.
- Crafting: two Withered Blackstone Slab in a shaped recipe produce one chiseled block.
- Stonecutting: a single Withered Blackstone Slab in a stonecutter produces one chiseled block.
This means you should craft slabs first if you want chiseled blocks, since slabs are the ingredient rather than the base block. The stonecutter route uses half the slabs of the crafting route.
Cracked Withered Blackstone
Cracked Withered Blackstone is not made at a crafting table or stonecutter at all. It comes from smelting.
- Smelting: place Withered Blackstone in a furnace to obtain Cracked Withered Blackstone.
The smelting recipe list contains two entries in total, and this is one of them. The other converts 
Cobbled Blackstone into 
Blackstone, which is a separate process from anything involving the withered variants.
Choosing Between Crafting and Stonecutting
For slabs, stairs, and walls, both methods are available, so the decision comes down to cost. Crafting uses three blocks for slabs and six blocks for stairs or walls. Stonecutting uses one block for any of the three. If you have a stonecutter, it stretches your Withered Blackstone further.
For chiseled blocks, the same logic applies but with slabs as the input: two slabs by crafting, one slab by stonecutting.
Cracked blocks sit outside this comparison entirely, since they only come from smelting and have no crafting or stonecutting recipe.
Planning Your Build
If you want a mix of shapes, start by deciding how much Withered Blackstone you are willing to spend. Slabs are the gateway to chiseled blocks, so craft more slabs than you think you need if chiseled forms are part of the plan. Stairs and walls share an identical cost, whether you craft or cut them.
For cracked variants, set aside blocks for the furnace separately, since smelting does not compete with the crafting or stonecutting recipes for the same input.
