Unrealium Ingots, Armor Effects, and Full-Set Perks

guide

Unrealium is Eternal Starlight's top-tier metal, and a single Unrealium Ingot takes four different materials in the Alloy Furnace: one Deepsilver Ingot, one Golem Steel Ingot, one Malarite and one Soul Dew. There is no other recipe and no ore to mine, so every ingot is assembled rather than found.

The four ingredients

Each one comes from a different part of the dimension, which is what makes unrealium expensive:

  • Deepsilver Ingot is alloyed from deepsilver ore or Raw Deepsilver with Saltpeter Powder. Deepsilver ore appears in grimstone, voidstone, eternal ice, haze ice and nightfall mud, so it is the easiest of the four to stockpile.
  • Golem Steel Ingot is alloyed from 3 Deepsilver Ingot and 2 Golem Steel Nugget, and golem steel comes from the golems themselves.
  • Malarite is a gem, found as ore in grimstone, voidstone and nightfall mud.
  • Soul Dew is the rarest component and the one that usually caps your production rate.

Every one of those steps runs through the Alloy Furnace, which drops from the Starlight Golem. Unrealium is therefore gated behind that boss twice over: once for the furnace, once for the golem steel.

Storage and building forms

Unrealium is also registered as an armour trim material, so you can apply its colour to any other armour set at a smithing table without spending a full suit's worth of ingots.

The full equipment list

Eleven items, all crafted at an ordinary crafting table with unrealium ingots and sticks in the vanilla shapes:

If a tool is worn out or unwanted, smelting or blasting any unrealium tool returns a nugget, so nothing is entirely wasted.

What the armour actually does

This is the part worth planning around, because unrealium armour grants situational immunities rather than raw defence numbers:

Suffocation immunity is not a small thing in a mod built around dense underground structures and cave dimensions - it removes an entire category of accidental death when a ceiling collapses on you or you teleport badly. Cramming immunity matters most on servers and in mob farms, where entity pile-ups are otherwise lethal.

The set also has an unusual audio property. Each piece mutes a different category of sound while worn:

  • Helmet - mutes eating sounds
  • Chestplate - mutes damage sounds
  • Leggings - mutes fall and water splash sounds
  • Boots - mutes footstep sounds

Wearing all four leaves you moving in near silence, which is flavour as much as function, and it fits the name.

Equipping any piece plays the set's own clanging sound rather than the usual iron or diamond noise, so you can hear when it has gone on.

Deepsilver, the tier below

If unrealium is out of reach, Deepsilver armour is the intermediate set and it has its own perk: it grants immunity to certain negative status effects. Deepsilver is also a trim material and it costs only ore plus saltpeter, so it is the sensible stepping stone while you accumulate soul dew.

Getting the full set

Four armour pieces cost 24 unrealium ingots in total - 5 for the helmet, 8 for the chestplate, 7 for the leggings and 4 for the boots - which means 24 deepsilver ingots, 24 golem steel ingots, 24 malarite and 24 soul dew, plus the 72 deepsilver ingots and 48 golem steel nuggets that the golem steel itself consumes. Completing the set earns the Stepping into the Unseen advancement.

Start collecting Soul Dew early. Deepsilver and malarite accumulate naturally while you mine the dimension, and golem steel follows from fighting golems, but soul dew is the ingredient that decides how long the set takes.
