Building an Ether Network with Collectors, Distributors, Senders, Receivers, and Altars

guide

Getting Started with Ether Network Blocks

This guide covers the construction and use of Ether collectors, distributors, senders, receivers, and altars. These blocks form a functional network for moving and storing Ether, a resource central to the mod. Before building, you need the base crafting materials: Ether Shards, Ether Fragments, Ether Ingots, Ether Cores, and Ether Essence. You will also need Blackstone, Chiseled Polished Blackstone, and Blackstone Slabs as structural components.

Crafting the Core Components

Each network block has a specific recipe. Gather the listed items and use a crafting table.

Setting Up the Network

Place the Ether Collector in a location where it can gather Ether. Connect it to an Ether Distributor using your chosen arrangement of Ether Senders and Ether Receivers. The sender pushes Ether along the connection, while the receiver pulls it in at the destination. Position the Ether Altar near the distributor or receiver to serve as a focal point for Ether-based operations. Ensure each block is placed within range of the next so the flow is uninterrupted.

Using the Blocks Together

For a basic loop, place a Collector at a source of Ether. Link its output to a Distributor. From the distributor, run a line of Senders toward your base or storage area. At the end of that line, place a Receiver to capture the Ether. Finally, set up the Ether Altar adjacent to the receiver to access stored Ether for crafting or other purposes. Adjust the number of senders and receivers based on the distance you need to cover.

Crafting Support Items

Several auxiliary items help you manage or enhance your network. These recipes use similar materials:

Building Materials and Decor

The mod also adds decorative and utility blocks. For example, you can craft Cracked Diorite Bricks, Cracked Ice Bricks, or Cracked Sandstone Bricks by combining Cracked Stone Bricks with Diorite, Packed Ice, or Sandstone respectively. Polished Diorite Bricks come from Stone Bricks plus Diorite. Other notable items include the Brazier (made from gold nuggets, blackstone, sandstone, and cut sandstone), the Codex of Ether (a book plus an Ether Shard), and the Elemental Emblem (4 Ether Ingots plus a Compass). The Ether Anvil uses Ether Ingots, an Anvil, and blackstone variants. A Magic Stick is simply 2 sticks plus an Ether Crystal.

Practical Tips

  • Always keep spare Ether Shards and Ingots on hand for repairs or expansions.
  • Test your network with a short run before building a long-distance line.
  • The Ether Altar is the most complex piece; build it last once your collectors and distributors are stable.
  • Use Ether Blocks (9 Ether Ingots) for compact storage of large amounts of Ether.
