EvilCraft Construction Blocks: Undead Wood, Dark Bricks, and Tanks

guide

This guide covers the construction-oriented blocks in EvilCraft, focusing on Undead wood, Dark bricks, tanks, and related building materials.

Undead Wood

Undead wood is a basic construction material derived from Undead Logs. To obtain it, place an Undead Log in a crafting grid; the log converts into Undead Planks through a shapeless recipe. These planks serve as a standard wood-type block for building and crafting, though they carry the distinct visual theme of EvilCraft.

Dark Brick

Dark Brick is a decorative stone block with a darker, more sinister appearance than standard stone bricks. Craft it by combining Stone Bricks (four of them) with one Dark Block in a shaped pattern. The result is a sturdy, visually distinct brick suitable for walls, floors, or any structure requiring a somber aesthetic.

Dark Tank

The Dark Tank is a functional block used for storing fluids. Its recipe requires Dark Gem (two), Iron Ingot (two), and one Obscured Glass. Arrange these in a shaped crafting pattern to produce a tank that can hold liquids, making it useful for automated systems or decorative fluid displays. The tank’s glass paneling allows you to see its contents.

Obscured Glass

Obscured Glass is a special transparent block that appears dark or smoky, limiting visibility compared to normal glass. To craft it, you need Obscured Glass (eight of them) surrounding one Dark Gem in a full ring. This recipe is notable because it uses the same block as an ingredient, meaning you must already possess some Obscured Glass to create more. The resulting block is ideal for windows where you want light to pass through but not a clear view of the interior.

Spiked Plate

The Spiked Plate is a defensive construction block designed to harm entities that step on it. Craft it using Spike (three) and one Heavy Weighted Pressure Plate. The spikes are arranged in a line above the pressure plate, creating a trap that can be placed on floors to deter or damage mobs and players. This block is useful for securing bases or creating hazard zones.

Dark Blood Brick Stairs

Dark Blood Brick Stairs are a variant stair block made from Dark Blood Brick. You have two methods to craft them:

  • Shaped Crafting: Place six Dark Blood Brick in a stair pattern (three in the bottom row, two in the middle row offset to one side, one in the top row offset the same way) to produce stairs.
  • Stonecutting: Use a stonecutter with one Dark Blood Brick as the input to directly output Dark Blood Brick Stairs. This method is more efficient, yielding stairs from a single brick block.

These stairs match the dark, blood-toned brick texture and are perfect for creating sloped paths or decorative architectural features in builds themed around EvilCraft’s darker materials.

Construction Tips

When building with these blocks, consider combining Undead Planks for organic structures, Dark Brick for solid walls, and Dark Tank for visible liquid storage. Obscured Glass works well for hidden observation rooms, while Spiked Plates add a layer of defense to entryways. Use Dark Blood Brick Stairs to transition between different floor levels without breaking the visual continuity of your dark-themed architecture. Each block shares a cohesive visual language, allowing you to create unified builds that fit the mod’s grim atmosphere.
