How to Open FirstPerson Settings and Control the Mod's Default State
The FirstPerson Settings screen is where you configure the FirstPerson mod, including whether it is active and how it behaves when the game starts. Everything below is done through that interface and your assigned hotkeys.
Opening the Settings Screen
Open the FirstPerson Settings screen to reach every option described here. The screen's title is FirstPerson Settings, so that is the label to look for once it is on display.
Turning the Mod On and Off
The screen provides a Toggle Firstperson control. Use it to switch the mod between active and inactive. When the mod is active, a third-person model is shown while you are in first-person view; turning it off returns you to the ordinary first-person presentation.
If you prefer to flip the mod without opening the screen each time, bind the corresponding hotkey in the controls menu. No default key is stated here, so choose one yourself.
Setting the Default State
The Enabled by default option decides what happens when the game starts. Its tooltip explains that it sets the default state of the FirstPerson mod after starting the game. Turn it on if you want the mod already active each time you launch; turn it off if you would rather begin with it inactive and enable it manually.
Options That Affect the Body and Hands
These settings change how the model and hands appear while the mod is running.
- Auto Vanilla Hands — when enabled, the mod automatically switches to vanilla hands while you are holding items.
- Vanilla Hands Mode — shows the standard first-person hands.
- Disable Vanilla Hands while Swimming — stops the vanilla hands from appearing while you swim. This also overrides the dynamic mode.
- Render Arrows & Stings — displays arrows, bee stings, and similar modded features while you are in first-person view.
Options That Move the Body
Several settings control how the body shifts relative to the camera.
- One option moves the body back and forth relative to the camera.
- A second does the same while you are sneaking.
- A third does the same while you are sitting.
- Another option changes the vanilla hands view according to your current view.
- A further option disables the FirstPerson mod while you are holding specified items.
A Practical Order to Work In
- Open the FirstPerson Settings screen.
- Decide whether you want the mod running now, and use Toggle Firstperson accordingly.
- Set Enabled by default to match how you want the game to start.
- Adjust the hand, body, and rendering options to suit your view.
- Bind the toggle action to a hotkey in the controls menu if you want quick access later.
