Showing Arrows, Bee Stings, and Other Stuck Features in First-Person View

guide

First-person Model lets you see your own body while playing in first person, and one of its settings controls whether projectiles and other things stuck to your character stay visible. The option that handles this is called Render Arrows & Stings, and its purpose is to show arrows, bee stings, or other modded features in first person.

What the Setting Does

When Render Arrows & Stings is active, stuck features appear in your first-person view. That covers arrows lodged in your character, bee stings, and similar attached features added by other mods. With it off, those stuck features are not shown in first person.

Turning It On or Off

Open the FirstPerson Settings interface and find the Render Arrows & Stings entry. Use it to switch the behaviour on or off. There is no separate key for this specific setting, so the interface is where you change it.

The settings screen also holds a set of options that affect how your body and hands appear in first person. These do not control stuck features, but they sit alongside Render Arrows & Stings, so it helps to know what each one is for.

  • Toggle Firstperson — switches the mod's first-person body rendering on or off.
  • Enabled by default — sets the default state of the mod when the game starts.
  • Auto Vanilla Hands — automatically switches to vanilla hands while you are holding items.
  • Vanilla Hands Mode — shows the vanilla first-person hands.
  • Disable Vanilla Hands while Swimming — turns off the vanilla hands while swimming, and this also ignores the dynamic mode.
  • firstperson — enables the third-person model while you are in first-person view.

Body Movement Options

Some entries adjust how your body moves relative to the camera. Each one covers a different situation:

  • One moves the body relative to the camera back and forth.
  • One does the same while sneaking.
  • One does the same while sitting.

Other Ways the Mod Limits Itself

Two settings can stop the mod from rendering its own hands or body in certain situations. Auto Vanilla Hands switches to vanilla hands when you hold items. A related option disables the mod entirely while you are holding specified items. Disable Vanilla Hands while Swimming removes the vanilla hands during swimming and overrides the dynamic mode.

Practical Notes

If arrows or bee stings seem to vanish when you switch to first person, check Render Arrows & Stings first. If your hands look wrong instead, the cause is more likely one of the hand-related settings, such as Auto Vanilla Hands, Vanilla Hands Mode, or Disable Vanilla Hands while Swimming. If your body does not appear at all, look at Toggle Firstperson and Enabled by default.

For any action that has its own hotkey, set that key in the controls menu rather than assuming a default. The FirstPerson Settings interface is the main place to change the options described here.
