Friends and Foes: Mob Vote Creatures and Features
Friends and Foes adds the outvoted and forgotten mobs from Minecraft's mob votes, expanding on their original concepts with vanilla-like features. This guide introduces them.
The mobs
The mod brings back creatures that lost their mob votes and builds them out fully. Among them is the Crab, a friendly creature of mangrove swamps and beaches — its crab claw can be used to craft a potion that increases your reach, and you breed crabs with kelp as they bury their eggs in a safe place. Other mob-vote candidates join it, each with its own behavior and features.
Vanilla-like design
The mod's goal is to feel like part of the base game, so the new mobs come with vanilla-style models, behavior and related features rather than standing apart. They slot into the biomes and situations where you would expect to find them.
Getting started
Explore the biomes tied to each creature — mangrove swamps and beaches for the Crab, and the appropriate environments for the others — to find them, then make use of their drops and mechanics, like brewing a reach potion from a crab claw. Friends and Foes is about enriching the world with the mobs that almost made it into vanilla.
