FTB Essentials Controls: Click to Teleport, TPA Requests, and Accept or Deny

guide

FTB Essentials handles teleportation and several server-side actions through on-screen prompts and hotkeys rather than crafting recipes. Most interactions happen by clicking text that appears in chat or on screen, and a few actions are bound to keys you assign yourself.

Teleporting by Clicking

The core interaction is simple: when a teleport option is offered, you click it. A prompt may present a clickable line such as Click to teleport, which sends you to the indicated destination. If you are asked to confirm something, you will see separate clickable options: Click to Accept and Click to Deny. Choosing the accept line carries the action through; choosing the deny line cancels it.

Because these are clickable text elements rather than fixed keyboard commands, you do not need to memorize a key for them. Just click the line that matches what you want to do.

Accepting or Denying Requests

When another player sends you a teleport request, you get a notification labeled notify — shown as TPA request! [ ➡ ]. From there you decide whether to allow it. Clicking the accept option lets the request proceed, and clicking the deny option refuses it.

Requests do not stay open forever. If you wait too long, the request is gone and you will see TPA request expired!. If you try to send a request while one is already pending, you are told Request already sent!. If the other player disconnects before the request resolves, you get Player has gone offline!.

Teleport Limits and Restrictions

Teleportation can be blocked for several reasons, and the mod tells you which one applies.

  • teleport prevented — Teleportation was prevented!
  • not from here — Teleportation from your dimension is not allowed!
  • not to here — Teleportation to this dimension is not allowed!
  • on cooldown — Can't teleport yet! Cooldown:
  • Teleportation interrupted!

Random teleport has its own restrictions. In a disallowed dimension you will see not here — You may not use /rtp in this dimension!. When a search is underway, the message is Looking for random location..., followed by Found good location after attempt(s) @. If nothing suitable turns up, you get failed — Could not find a valid location to teleport to!.

Distance settings have a rule: max less than min — Maximum teleport distance cannot be less than minimum!.

Teleport history is also tracked. If there is nothing recorded, you will see history empty — Teleportation history is empty!.

Hotkey-Driven Actions

Some features are triggered by a hotkey rather than a click. These include stop record, which confirms recording has ended, and stop stream, which confirms streaming has ended. Another is kick self, which removes you from the server yourself.

For any of these, use the corresponding hotkey (set it in the controls menu). No default key is assumed here — assign whatever is comfortable in your controls.

Other Messages You May Encounter

A few unrelated restrictions can appear while using the mod. If chat is disabled for you, you will be told you cannot use chat because an admin muted you. Opening an enderchest can fail with Unable to open enderchest inventory!.

Kits produce their own feedback, including added items when items are placed into your focused inventory, cant store when a kit cannot be saved, and No items to add to kit! when there is nothing to give. Kits can also be one-time only, on cooldown, or autogranted at login.

The practical takeaway: watch for clickable lines when teleporting or answering requests, and bind hotkeys for the recording, streaming, and self-kick actions.
