FTB Essentials Teleport Guide: TPA Requests, History, Cooldowns, and /rtp

guide

FTB Essentials handles player-to-player teleport requests, teleport history, cooldown limits, dimension rules, and random teleporting through its own interface and hotkeys rather than through crafting. This guide covers what each part does and how to operate it.

Sending and Answering TPA Requests

A teleport request is sent to another player. Once it arrives, that player sees a notification reading notify with a TPA request marker, letting them know someone wants to teleport to them. If the same player tries to send another request before the first is resolved, they are told the request was already sent.

The receiving player answers with one of two buttons: Click to Accept or Click to Deny. Accepting lets the teleport go ahead; denying turns it down.

Requests do not stay open forever. If too much time passes, the request expires and both sides are informed that the TPA request expired. Requests also end if the other player leaves the server, in which case the message is that the player has gone offline.

Teleport History

Teleport history keeps a record of past teleports. When there is nothing recorded yet, the interface reports history empty and states that teleportation history is empty. When entries do exist, they appear as clickable entries, and clicking one teleports you to that location.

Cooldowns and Restrictions

Teleporting is not always instant. When a cooldown is active, the game blocks the attempt and shows on cooldown along with the remaining cooldown time. You simply have to wait it out.

Separately, teleportation can be prevented outright. In that case the message is teleport prevented, meaning the action was blocked rather than delayed.

Dimension rules can also stop a teleport. You may see not from here, meaning teleporting out of your current dimension is not allowed, or not to here, meaning teleporting into the target dimension is not allowed. A teleport can also be cut short mid-way, reported as teleportation interrupted.

Random Teleport (/rtp)

The random teleport command searches for a safe spot and moves you there. While it works, it displays "Looking for random location..." and then reports that it found a good location after a certain number of attempts at a set of coordinates. If nothing suitable turns up, it reports failed and says it could not find a valid location.

Two distance settings shape the search. The limit radius option caps how far the search reaches, and the players within option relates to how many players are within a given number of meters. If the maximum teleport distance is set below the minimum, the game rejects it with max less than min, stating that the maximum teleport distance cannot be less than the minimum.

Random teleport is not available everywhere. In a disallowed dimension, the command reports not here and tells you that /rtp may not be used in that dimension.

Operating the Interface

Most of these actions are performed by clicking. Buttons such as Click to teleport, Click to Accept, and Click to Deny are clicked directly. Where an action has its own hotkey, use the corresponding hotkey and set it in the controls menu.
