Light Stands and Chandeliers

If you want to add permanent, decorative lighting to a base, Chandeliers and Light Stands are your primary options. Both come in standard and soul variants, and all require Palladium Ingots as a core material.

A Chandelier is crafted with two Chain, one Coal, and three Palladium Ingots in a shaped pattern. The Soul Chandelier uses the same recipe but replaces the Coal with Soul Sand. These hanging fixtures suit tall ceilings, entry halls, or any spot where you want light suspended from above.

For floor-level or tabletop illumination, craft a Light Stand using one Coal and two Palladium Ingots. The Soul Light Stand swaps the Coal for Soul Sand, keeping the same two Palladium Ingots. These compact stands are ideal for corridors, workbenches, or bedside placement.

The soul variants provide a different aesthetic, so choose based on the mood you want for each room. Standard versions give a warm, familiar glow, while soul versions offer a cooler, otherworldly tone.

Glow Flares

When you need portable or throwable light, Glow Flares are the answer. To craft one, combine a Glow Ink Sac, one Copper Ingot, and a Stick in a shaped recipe. This produces a flare you can use to mark locations, light up dark caves temporarily, or signal areas to other players.

Glow Flares are practical for exploration because they let you place light without committing to a permanent block. Toss one into a dark chamber before entering, or use them to outline a path through a tunnel system.

Spectre Flares

A more specialized tool is the Spectre Flare, crafted from one Bottle Of Spectre and a single Palladium Ingot. This flare serves a different purpose than the standard Glow Flare, so keep it separate in your inventory. Use it when you need the unique effect it provides, rather than as a general-purpose light source.

Palladium Ingots

Since Palladium Ingots appear in nearly every lighting recipe here, stockpile them early. They are essential for both hanging and standing lamps, as well as for Spectre Flares. Without a steady supply, you will be limited to Glow Flares for your lighting needs.

Practical Layout Tips

  • Use Chandeliers in large rooms with high ceilings to spread light evenly across a wide area.
  • Place Light Stands along staircases or in narrow hallways where a hanging fixture would be awkward.
  • Keep a stack of Glow Flares in your hotbar when exploring new caves or structures.
  • Mix standard and soul variants in the same build to create visual contrast between zones.
  • Reserve Spectre Flares for situations where their special behavior is needed, rather than wasting them on ordinary lighting.

With these recipes, you can build a complete lighting system that covers permanent fixtures, portable options, and specialty flares. Start with a few Light Stands for immediate needs, then upgrade to Chandeliers for your main halls. Keep Glow Flares handy for expeditions, and save Spectre Flares for their intended use.
