Fancy beds are the exception worth planning for

Beds are the one piece here that carries a function as well as a look, which makes them worth crafting last — after you have settled on the wood the rest of the room uses. A fancy bed in the wrong species is the most visible mismatch in a finished bedroom.

The 1.21.1 and 1.20.1 builds ship identical recipe counts, so nothing in the table or bed line is version-specific.

Building sets

Tables and side tables are designed to read as a set with the seating and storage pieces, and since every wood type costs the same, the sensible approach is to pick a species per room rather than per item. Craft the large pieces first to check the colour in place, then fill in the small ones — reversing that order tends to produce a room built around a side table.
