Hexerei Storage Guide: Satchels, Coffers, and Ender Variants
Satchels: Portable Inventory
Satchels are wearable storage bags that expand your carrying capacity while you explore. Each tier builds upon the previous one, so you will need to craft them in order.
Small Satchel
The 
Small Satchel is the base model. To craft it, place String, six Leather, and a Gold Nugget into a Mixingcauldron. The recipe consumes all ingredients and produces the satchel. It offers a modest number of slots, suitable for early-game trips.
Medium Satchel
The 
Medium Satchel upgrades the Small Satchel. Combine a Small Satchel with six Leather and one String in the Mixingcauldron. This increases the slot count noticeably, making it a solid choice for mid-game mining or long building sessions.
Large Satchel
The 
Large Satchel requires a Small Satchel, a Medium Satchel, four String, and two Leather. This recipe uses both lower-tier satchels as components, so you cannot reclaim them afterward. The resulting bag provides the highest capacity among the standard satchels, ideal for bulk transport of blocks or loot.
Ender Satchel
The 
Ender Satchel is a special variant that links to a shared inventory space. Craft it by placing a Medium Satchel, six Obsidian, and an Eye of Ender in the Mixingcauldron. Unlike the regular satchels, this one does not store items locally on the bag itself. Instead, it accesses a single, persistent storage dimension. Any Ender Satchel you craft will open the same inventory, so you can place items in one and retrieve them from another, even far away. This makes it invaluable for moving resources between bases or for keeping a portable stash that never drops on death.
Coffers: Stationary Storage
Coffers are block-based storage containers that sit in the world. They offer a different tradeoff than satchels: more space per block, but no portability.
Coffer
The basic 
Coffer is crafted with five Mahogany Planks and three Gold Ingots in the Mixingcauldron. It functions as a standard chest-like container with a generous number of slots. Use it to organize bulk items in your base, such as ores, wood, or food. Because it is a block, you can place it on the floor or against a wall, and it will retain its contents when broken and picked up.
Entangled Coffer
The 
Entangled Coffer is a networked variant of the Coffer. To craft it, you need an Echo Shard, four Moon Dust, two Eyes of Ender, and a regular Coffer. The recipe consumes the Coffer, so prepare a spare if you still need a normal one. This coffer can be linked to another Entangled Coffer. When two are bound together, items placed in one will appear in the other, regardless of the distance between them. This allows for automatic item transfer between your mining outpost and your main storage room, or between a farm and a sorting system. The linking process requires you to interact with both coffers in a specific order, but the exact method is not covered here.
Choosing Between Satchels and Coffers
Use satchels when you are on the move — exploring caves, raiding structures, or hauling loot back to a central point. Use coffers when you need permanent, high-volume storage at a fixed location. The Ender Satchel and Entangled Coffer both solve the problem of distance, but in different ways: the satchel gives you a personal pocket dimension, while the coffer connects two physical containers. For most players, a Large Satchel plus a set of regular Coffers covers daily needs. Add an Ender Satchel later for convenience, and build Entangled Coffers once you have access to Echo Shards and Moon Dust.
