Planks from Logs and Wood

Hexerei adds three primary wood types, each with its own set of planks. For all three types, you can obtain planks through shapeless crafting from any of the four base forms of that wood: the log, the stripped log, the wood, or the stripped wood. This means you do not need a specific tool or a crafting table with a particular layout; simply combine the wood item with your crafting grid.

Witch Hazel Planks: Crafted shapelessly from a Witch Hazel Log, Stripped Witch Hazel Log, Witch Hazel Wood, or Stripped Witch Hazel Wood.
Willow Planks: Crafted shapelessly from a Willow Log, Stripped Willow Log, Willow Wood, or Stripped Willow Wood.
Mahogany Planks: Crafted shapelessly from a Mahogany Log, Stripped Mahogany Log, Mahogany Wood, or Stripped Mahogany Wood.

Each variant yields the same planks for its respective wood type, so you can use whichever form you have on hand.

Polished Connected Blocks

Beyond standard planks, the mod features polished "connected" blocks for each wood type. These are decorative blocks designed to blend seamlessly when placed adjacent to one another. You cannot craft them directly; instead, you must produce them using a woodcutting mechanic from a selection of other Hexerei wood blocks.

Polished Witch Hazel Connected

To obtain Polished Witch Hazel Connected, use the woodcutting mechanic on any of the following blocks:

Polished Witch Hazel Stairs
Stripped Witch Hazel Log

Polished Willow Connected

For Polished Willow Connected, the woodcutting inputs are:

Polished Mahogany Connected

Polished Mahogany Connected has a slightly different set of source blocks for woodcutting:

Note that for Mahogany, the input list does not include a "Polished" tier for the planks, slab, or stairs, nor does it use a stripped log. Instead, the standard Mahogany Log and Mahogany Wood are valid sources.

Practical Use

These connected blocks are ideal for large wall surfaces or floors where you want a clean, uninterrupted pattern without visible seams between individual blocks. Because each polished connected variant requires a woodcutting step, plan your material processing ahead. If you have a surplus of stairs, slabs, or pillars from building, you can recycle them into the connected blocks rather than leaving them unused. The woodcutting recipes also give you a reason to keep stripped logs, as they serve as a direct source for the Witch Hazel and Willow connected versions.
