Horse Expert: Using the Monocle to Read Horse Stats
Horse Expert adds a single wearable item, the 
Monocle, that lets you inspect a mount's statistics directly. Instead of guessing whether a horse is worth taming, you can look at the animal while wearing the Monocle and read its stats on the spot.
What the Monocle Does
The Monocle is worn by the builder. While it is equipped, looking at a mount displays that mount's statistics. This applies to reading a horse before you commit to breeding or training it, so you can compare candidates without relying on trial and error.
Crafting the Monocle
The Monocle is made at a crafting table. The recipe uses four 
Gold Nugget and one 
Glass Pane.

Gather the Gold Nugget first. A single 
Gold Ingot can be broken down into Gold Nugget, which covers the full amount the recipe needs. The Glass Pane comes from 
Glass, so smelt sand into Glass and cut it down into panes before crafting.
Once you have four Gold Nugget and one Glass Pane, arrange them in the crafting grid to produce the Monocle.
Using It in Practice
Equip the Monocle, then look at a mount. Its statistics appear for you to read. Because the Monocle is worn rather than held, you keep both hands free while checking animals, which makes it practical to carry a lead or food at the same time.
A sensible routine when shopping for a mount:
- Craft the Monocle from four Gold Nugget and one Glass Pane.
- Wear it before approaching any mount.
- Look at each candidate and compare the statistics shown.
- Keep the Monocle on while you move between animals so you never check one without it.
