Crafting and Using Mechanical Feathered and Leather Wings
This guide covers the crafting recipes and practical use of the 
White Mechanical Feathered Wings and 
Orange Mechanical Leather Wings from the Icarus mod.
Crafting the Mechanical Wings
Both wing types are created through shaped crafting recipes that combine an Elytra with mechanical components. The primary difference between the two lies in the material used for the wing surface.
White Mechanical Feathered Wings
To craft the White Mechanical Feathered Wings, arrange the following items in a shaped pattern:
Honeycomb x3
Iron Ingot x2
Elytra x1
Feather x2
Place the Elytra in the center slot, with the Honeycomb pieces and Iron Ingots positioned around it, and the Feathers filling the remaining slots. The exact arrangement follows a standard wing-shaped layout.
Orange Mechanical Leather Wings
For the Orange Mechanical Leather Wings, the recipe is nearly identical but substitutes the Feathers with leather materials:
- Honeycomb x3
- Iron Ingot x2
- Elytra x1
- #icarus:leathers x2
Use any item that counts as leather (such as standard leather) in place of the feathers. The rest of the recipe remains the same.
Recoloring the Wings
Both wing types can be dyed to change their color, but the process differs slightly.
Recoloring White Mechanical Feathered Wings
You can recolor the White Mechanical Feathered Wings using a shapeless crafting recipe. Combine the wings with any white dye (from the `#c:dyes/white` tag) to produce another set of White Mechanical Feathered Wings. This effectively allows you to refresh or confirm their color, though it does not change them to a different hue.
Recoloring White Mechanical Leather Wings
Similarly, the 
White Mechanical Leather Wings can be combined with white dye in a shapeless recipe to yield White Mechanical Leather Wings again. This is useful if you need to reset the color or simply have spare white dye.
Recoloring to Orange
To obtain Orange Mechanical Leather Wings from the white version, use a shapeless crafting recipe:
- White Mechanical Leather Wings + Orange dye (from the `#c:dyes/orange` tag)
This produces the Orange Mechanical Leather Wings directly, giving you a colored variant without needing to craft a new pair from scratch.
Using the Wings
Once crafted, equip the wings in the chestplate slot, just as you would an Elytra. The mechanical nature of these wings suggests they function similarly to the Elytra, allowing gliding and flight when paired with a rocket or other propulsion method. The Honeycomb and Iron Ingot components likely add durability or structural integrity, though the exact flight mechanics are not detailed here.
Practical Tips
- Always carry extra Honeycomb and Iron Ingots if you plan to craft multiple pairs, as these are the core mechanical parts.
- The Feather variant is best if you have a steady supply from chickens, while the
