Incendium Biomes, Climates, and Hazards Overview

guide

Incendium Legacy adds six distinct biomes to the Nether, each sharing a hot, arid climate with no rainfall but differing sharply in terrain, mobs, and danger level. All six biomes have a temperature of 2, so heat itself is constant; what changes is the company you keep.

Shared Climate Basics

Every Incendium biome is hot and dry. You will never see rain in any of them. Because temperature is uniformly high across all six, your preparation for heat and fire resistance should be the same regardless of which biome you enter. The real differences lie in hostile spawns and terrain hazards.

Inverted Forest

The Inverted Forest is the least overtly lethal biome, but it has an unusual twist. Its monster spawns consist solely of enderman, so expect frequent teleportation and aggression if you make eye contact. Creature spawns include strider, which means you may find passive lava-crossing mounts here. The forest itself offers no rain and hot temperatures, but the main hazard is enderman harassment rather than fire or lava traps.

Withered Forest

The Withered Forest is a step up in danger. Its monster spawns include wither skeleton, magma cube, and phantom. Wither skeletons inflict the wither effect, which can drain your health rapidly if you lack milk or golden apples. Magma cubes bounce and split, while phantoms swoop down from above, forcing you to watch both ground and sky. This biome punishes careless exploration more than the Inverted Forest.

Weeping Valley

The Weeping Valley combines multiple ranged and melee threats. Monster spawns include skeleton, ghast, enderman, and magma cube. Skeletons provide steady arrow fire, ghasts lob explosive fireballs from a distance, and enderman close in when provoked. Magma cubes add ground-level chaos. Creature spawns include strider, so lava travel is possible, but the combination of projectiles and melee makes this valley one of the more stressful areas to traverse.

Toxic Heap

The Toxic Heap focuses on fire and airborne enemies. Monster spawns are limited to phantom and magma cube. Phantoms will dive at you if you have not slept recently, and magma cubes create bouncing hazards. Creature spawns include strider. The lack of skeletons or ghasts may make this biome seem easier, but the phantom pressure can be relentless, especially if you are trying to build or mine in place.

Infernal Dunes

The Infernal Dunes shifts the threat toward fire-based mobs. Monster spawns include blaze and magma cube. Blazes shoot fire charges that set you ablaze, and they hover out of melee reach. Magma cubes add ground-level danger. Creature spawns include strider. This biome is a gauntlet for anyone not carrying fire resistance potions, as blaze accuracy combined with magma cube splitting can overwhelm you quickly.

Volcanic Deltas

The Volcanic Deltas is the most hostile biome in the set. Monster spawns include ghast, magma cube, and blaze. You face explosive fireballs from ghasts, fire charges from blazes, and splitting magma cubes all at once. Creature spawns include strider, but using one for lava travel is risky because ghast fireballs can knock you off. This biome demands full fire resistance, ranged weapons for ghasts and blazes, and constant movement to avoid being cornered.

Practical Hazard Summary

  • Enderman (Inverted Forest, Weeping Valley): avoid eye contact or wear a pumpkin.
  • Wither skeletons (Withered Forest): carry milk or golden apples for the wither effect.
  • Phantoms (Withered Forest, Toxic Heap): sleep regularly or bring a shield.
  • Ghasts (Weeping Valley, Volcanic Deltas): listen for their cry and dodge fireballs.
  • Blazes (Infernal Dunes, Volcanic Deltas): use fire resistance and ranged attacks.
  • Magma cubes (all except Inverted Forest): keep distance and kill them before they split.

For all six biomes, bring fire resistance potions, a bow with good range, and a way to heal quickly. Striders appear in most biomes, so lava traversal is an option, but do not rely on it in Volcanic Deltas or Weeping Valley where ghasts can interrupt your ride. Choose your route based on which mobs you can handle, and always expect hot, dry conditions with no rain to help you cool down.
