Finding Incendium Legacy’s Hidden Structures and Their Rewards
The Incendium Legacy mod places three rare structures across its fiery biomes, each with unique loot and distinct combat challenges. This guide covers where they spawn, how they are distributed, and what to expect when you explore them.
Quartz Kitchen
The Quartz Kitchen generates only in the Quartz Flats biome. This is a hot, dry area with no rain, where the temperature is extreme. You will encounter ghasts and skeletons as the primary monster threats, while striders wander as passive creatures. The structure itself is built from quartz and contains valuable loot, but reaching it means dealing with the open terrain and ranged attacks from ghasts.
Placement is deliberately sparse. The game attempts to generate the structure once per 20x20 chunk region, and it will never appear closer than 12 chunks to another instance of itself. In practical terms, this means you might travel a long distance across the flats before spotting one. Use the horizon and any quartz landmarks to guide your search, but do not expect clusters.
Ruined Lab
The Ruined Lab is exclusive to the Withered Forest, a biome not covered by the climate notes above but clearly hostile. Like the Quartz Kitchen, it uses the same spacing rule: one attempt per 20x20 chunk region, with a minimum distance of 12 chunks between labs. This structure contains laboratory-themed loot, likely including rare materials or tools. The challenge here comes from the forest’s own hostile spawns, so prepare for close-quarters combat as you enter the lab’s interior. Because the spacing is identical to the Kitchen, you will need to cover similar ground to find multiple labs.
Sanctum
The Sanctum is the most restricted and dangerous of the three. It generates in any biome tagged as `#incendium:structure/has_sanctum`, which means it appears in specific locations rather than one single biome. Its placement is even rarer: one attempt per 30x30 chunk region, with a minimum separation of 16 chunks from any other Sanctum. This makes it the hardest structure to locate, so expect a long expedition.
The defining feature of the Sanctum is that it overrides mob spawning for the `monster` category. This means that within its area, the normal monster spawn rules are replaced. You will not see the usual ghasts, skeletons, or magma cubes that other biomes produce. Instead, the structure’s own spawn logic takes over, which typically means a bespoke set of enemies designed around the Sanctum’s theme. Bring specialized gear, because you cannot rely on the standard biome spawn list to predict what you will face.
Biome Climate and Spawn Notes
Two other biomes are relevant to your search, even if they do not host a structure themselves. The Ash Barrens shares the hot, rainless climate with Quartz Flats. Its monster spawns are ghasts, magma cubes, and piglins, while striders are the only creatures. You might cross this biome while traveling between structures, so expect magma cube jumps and piglin aggression. The Quartz Flats, by contrast, lack magma cubes but still have skeletons alongside ghasts.
Practical Search Strategy
Because all three structures have strict minimum distances, you should never backtrack over already-searched ground. Mark your path with blocks or coordinates. For the Kitchen and Lab, a 20x20 chunk region is roughly 320 blocks by 320 blocks, so systematic sweeps of that size will eventually yield results. For the Sanctum, expand your sweep to 480 blocks per side. Always carry fire resistance and ranged weapons, as ghasts are common in two of the three relevant biomes. The Sanctum’s spawn override means you can ignore the biome’s usual monster list once you are inside its radius, but you must survive the journey there first. Loot is the reward, but the real prize is learning each structure’s unique layout and enemy patterns.
