Inventory Pets: Items That Do Things From Your Inventory
Inventory Pets adds pets that grant effects while carried rather than placed. This guide covers what the mod contains and where its dungeons generate.
It is almost entirely items
139 pages across 131 items and just 8 blocks. That ratio is close to the most extreme on this wiki, and it is the whole idea: a pet is an item you carry, feed and benefit from, not a mob you tame or a block you place.
One recipe category, and that is all
The mod registers 107 crafting recipes on 1.21.1 and 113 on 1.20.1, and nothing else. No machine, no bespoke bench, no processing chain, no smelting.
Every pet is made at an ordinary crafting table. There is no tier ladder to climb and no station to unlock — the gating is entirely on the ingredients each pet needs.
The older build has six more recipes
113 against 107 is the only difference between the two versions. Six pets or components exist on 1.20.1 that the 1.21.1 build does not register, so a guide written for the newer line will not be missing anything, but one written for the older might name something you cannot make.
Six dungeons, and all of them are common
The mod generates six structures, and by the standards of this wiki every one of them is dense:
- Tree Top — spacing 3, separation 2
- Underground Dungeon — spacing 6, separation 3
- Space Dungeon — spacing 9, separation 6
- Nether Dungeon — spacing 10, separation 5
- Sea Cave — spacing 10, separation 8
- Sky Dungeon — spacing 16, separation 12
A spacing of 3 for Tree Top means it is effectively everywhere. Even the rarest of the six, the Sky Dungeon at 16, is more common than most mods' ordinary structures.
That density is deliberate. The dungeons supply pet ingredients, so the mod makes them easy to find rather than making them expeditions.
Where to start
Look up before you dig. Tree Top and Sky Dungeon cover the overworld surface at very high density, and between them they are the fastest route to the materials the crafting list wants.
