Setting Up the Armor HUD in InventoryHUD+ (Durability, Bars, and Positioning)
The Armor HUD in InventoryHUD+ shows your equipped armor on screen while you play, and it can be tuned in several ways. You reach its options through the mod's settings screen, whose heading reads Inventory HUD+ Settings. From there you can open the Armor HUD options section and adjust how durability is reported, whether bars appear, when pieces are hidden, and where each piece sits.
Turning the Armor HUD on or off
Use the Armor HUD toggle to switch the whole display on or off. If you want a single command instead of clicking through menus, the action togglearm does the same job. There is also a broader toggleall action that flips every HUD the mod provides at once.
Choosing a durability display mode
The Show durability in: setting decides what number, if any, appears with each armor piece. Four modes are available:
- PERCENTAGE — the remaining durability expressed as a value from 0 to 100.
- DAMAGE — how much damage the item has already taken.
- DAMAGE_LEFT — how much more damage the item can absorb.
- OFF — no numbers are shown at all.
Pick the mode that matches how you read your gear; percentage is the most compact, while the two damage modes give raw values.
Overlay durability bars
Separately from the numbers, you can enable overlay durability bars. These draw a bar over the armor icon so you can judge condition at a glance without reading digits. Toggle this on if you prefer a visual indicator, or leave it off if the numbers alone are enough.
Hiding pieces above a durability threshold
There is a setting that hides an item when its durability is higher than a value you choose, expressed as a percentage from 0 to 100. Raise the threshold if you only want to see pieces that are getting worn down; lower it if you want almost everything visible. This keeps the HUD clear when your gear is in good shape.
Per-item positioning
Positioning has two modes, controlled by a true/false choice:
- true — move every item together as one group.
- false — move each item individually.
Use the grouped mode for a quick overall shift, and the individual mode when you want a custom layout, such as staggering pieces or tucking one out of the way.
Related armor HUD options
A few more toggles sit alongside the armor settings. You can show or hide empty slot icons, so blank armor slots either appear as placeholders or vanish entirely. You can also toggle items in Armor HUD, which controls whether the armor pieces themselves are drawn.
Transparency and debug screen behaviour
The general Inventory HUD background transparency slider runs from 0 to 100 and affects the HUD's backdrop. If you use the debug screen, there is a dedicated option to Show Armor HUD when debug gui is ON, which keeps the armor display visible even with debug information on screen.
Hotkeys
Every toggle described here can be bound to a key. Open the controls menu and assign the action you want — for example the armor HUD toggle or the all-HUDs toggle — to whichever key suits you. No default binding is assumed, so set them yourself before relying on them in play.
