Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks: Spells, Armor, and Imbuement

guide

Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks is built around its spells and the gear that supports them. This guide covers the spell list and the equipment systems.

Over 100 spells

The mod features more than 100 upgradable spells, each configurable and levelable. You collect spells as scrolls — from loot, merchants and defeated casters — then inscribe and level the ones that fit your build, so no two wizards play the same.

Wizard armor

There are twelve wizard armor sets, each themed to a style of magic and offering bonuses that support casting. Because armor can be upgraded at the Arcane Anvil, a set grows with you rather than being replaced.

Imbuement and combat

The mod adds a Weapon Imbuement system, letting you imbue a weapon with a spell at the Arcane Anvil so your melee attacks carry magic. Combined with an Armor Upgrade system, upgradable spell books, and native compatibility with mods like Apotheosis and Tetra, Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks supports a full RPG caster build — spells for offense and utility, armor for survivability, and imbued weapons for when enemies close in.

Smithing carries the gear line

38 smithing transform recipes — identical on both versions — are where armour and weapon upgrades happen, against 139 crafting recipes for everything else. That ratio makes the smithing table, not the crafting grid, the workbench that matters for gear.

The cauldron loop

Potions and brews run through a four-part cycle on one block: Fill (16 recipes), Brew (15) and Empty (16), plus generic Filling and Emptying at 15 each. They describe one workflow rather than separate systems.

Where the materials come from

Nine structures supply what cannot be crafted, and their spacing decides how hard each is to reach:

Version note

Both builds are 3.16.3 and nearly identical — the only differences are two crafting recipes, two blasting recipes and one cauldron brew.
