It Takes a Pillage: Two Structures, No Recipes
It Takes a Pillage reworks pillager encounters. This guide covers what it generates and why its recipe list is empty.
No recipes at all
The mod registers zero recipes across 5 items and no blocks. Every one of those five items is therefore a drop, obtained by fighting rather than by crafting.
That is the clearest possible statement of what the mod is: a combat and encounter change, not a content pack.
Two structures, sharing settings
- Bastille — spacing 32, separation 12
- Pillager Camp — spacing 32, separation 12
Identical placement for both. Neither is rarer than the other, so there is no progression between them — they are two flavours of the same encounter tier rather than a ladder.
At a spacing of 32 they are moderately common: not something you trip over, but reachable on any deliberate overland trip.
Why the separation matters here
A separation of 12 against a spacing of 32 leaves room for these to generate relatively close together. For a mod about raids and camps that is deliberate — a region can hold more than one threat.
Five items, all earned
With no recipes, the five items are the reward structure. You cannot prepare by crafting them in advance, and you cannot make more once you have one; the only source is the encounter.
This line is 1.20.1 only
The build is 1.0.3 on Forge. There is no 1.21.1 release, so a pack on the newer line cannot include it.
What to expect
A small, focused encounter mod. Five items, two structures, no crafting, no blocks and no progression system. It changes how pillagers behave and gives you a reason to seek them out, and that is the whole of it.
How to use this wiki page
Because nothing here is crafted, a recipe lookup will return nothing and that is correct rather than a gap. The structures are the content — go to a Bastille or a Pillager Camp and the mod happens.
Reading a zero-recipe mod
A mod with items but no recipes is a distinct shape worth recognising. It means every item is a reward, so the mod cannot be prepared for — you cannot stock up, and you cannot replace what you lose except by fighting for it again.
That also makes the two structures the mod's only content delivery. There is no crafting bench to visit and no processing chain, so the whole loop is: find a Bastille or a Pillager Camp, survive it, keep what drops.
Scale, stated plainly
5 pages, 5 items, 0 blocks, 0 recipes, 2 structures, on 1.0.3 for 1.20.1 Forge with no 1.21.1 build.
