Item Scroller Guide: Scroll-to-Craft, Recipe Memory, Mass Crafting, and Performance

guide

Item Scroller lets you move items and craft by scrolling, dragging, and holding keys inside inventory screens, and this guide covers its crafting, recipe memory, and performance options.

Moving Items by Scrolling

With enableScrollingSingle on, rolling the mouse wheel over a stack moves one item at a time. With enableScrollingStacks on, the same gesture moves whole stacks. reverseScrollDirectionSingle and reverseScrollDirectionStacks flip the direction for each of those modes separately.

Holding modifierMoveStack while scrolling sends the full stack to the other inventory. Holding modifierMoveEverything sends every item, and modifierMoveMatching sends only stacks that match. These are governed by enableScrollingEverything and enableScrollingMatchingStacks.

enableScrollingStacksFallback adds an alternate way to move whole stacks, useful where shift-clicking does not work, such as a vanilla crafting table. useSlotPositionAwareScrollDirection makes the direction depend on where slots sit vertically on screen; it may behave oddly in complex inventories.

enableShiftDropItems drops all matching items when you shift-click a stack to drop it, and enableShiftPlaceItems moves all matching stacks when you shift-place into an empty slot. enableDropkeyDropMatching drops every matching item in the same inventory using the drop hotkey.

Dragging and Keybinds

Dragging over slots performs bulk actions, each tied to a bindable key: keyDragDropOne, keyDragDropLeaveOne, keyDragDropStacks, keyDragMoveOne, keyDragMoveLeaveOne, keyDragMoveMatching, and keyDragMoveStacks. keyMoveEverything moves all items to the other inventory when you click a stack.

The wsMoveUp and wsMoveDown families move single items, stacks, matching items, or all-but-one up or down the inventory. Bind these in the controls menu.

Crafting and Recipe Memory

enableCraftingFeatures turns on scrolling items into and out of crafting grids and provides a built-in memory of 18 recipes. Hold the Recipe key to view stored recipes and change the selection; while holding it, scroll or press a number key to pick one. Click pick block over a configured crafting output slot to save that recipe into the current slot. Supported grids must be listed in the scrollableCraftingGrids list.

storeRecipe saves a recipe while you hover a crafting output. recipeView opens the recipe GUI, and craftingRenderRecipeItems draws the recipe's items there. craftEverything crafts every possible result once with the selected recipe. moveCraftResults moves the selected recipe's output from your inventory to the other inventory, and throwCraftResults tosses it on the ground.

enableRightClickCraftingOneStack crafts up to a full stack when you right-click a configured crafting output slot. clientCraftingFixOn1 12 updates the recipe output on the client, fixing quick and mass crafting on 1.12.

Recipes stay between sessions if craftingRecipesSaveToFile is on; craftingRecipesSaveFileIsGlobal makes that file shared rather than per-world or per-server.

Mass Crafting

massCraft mass crafts and discards results while the keybind is held. massCraftToggle toggles the same behavior. massCraftHold is a separate hold-based implementation. Note that massCraftHold, massCraftToggle, and massCraftUseRecipeBook do not work together with rateLimitClickPackets.

massCraftInterval sets how often the operation repeats, and massCraftIterations sets how many attempts run each time; raise it for unstackable items or a full inventory. massCraftInhibitMidUpdates avoids refreshing the output mid-transfer to cut CPU use. massCraftSwapsOnly fills the grid using only swap packets, so no partial crafts or stack splitting occur. massCraftUseRecipeBook uses the Recipe Book Protocol. useRecipeCaching caches the last recipe to reduce CPU load during mass crafting.

Server and Performance Settings

rateLimitClickPackets queues emulated slot clicks and sends them gradually for servers that throttle packets; the per-tick cap is set in packetRateLimit. carpetCtrlQCraftingEnabledOnServer should be enabled when the server runs Carpet with ctrlQCrafting on, changing which method is used for drop-key plus shift-right-click crafting.

Villager Trading

enableScrollingVillager handles villager GUIs, where shift-clicking normally fails: hold shift and scroll over the trade output. enableVillagerTradeFeatures adds middle-click favoriting and right-click quick trading. villagerTradeFavorites trades everything possible with favorited trades, modifierToggleVillagerGlobalFavorite toggles a trade's global favorite state, villagerTradeUseGlobalFavorites controls whether per-item global favorites apply, and villagerTradeListRememberScrollPosition restores your last scroll position when reopening the trade list.

Utility Keys

sortInventory sorts the inventory under your cursor, enabled by sortInventoryToggle. openConfigGui opens the config screen, slotDebug prints slot or GUI details, toggleModOnOff and modMainToggle disable or restore all functionality, and debugMessages prints console diagnostics.
