Crafting Pistols, Shotguns, Scatterguns, and Magazines in Jaam's Weaponry
Crafting pistols, shotguns, scatterguns, crossbows, and magazines in Jaam's Weaponry follows a consistent pattern across the mod's firearm recipes, with a few variations for the higher-tier weapons. Each gun is built on a workbench using a shaped recipe, and most share a common set of ingredients: a fire charge, a short stick, and leather, alongside metal ingots that determine the weapon's material tier. Understanding these shared components makes it easier to plan which gun to build first.
Pistols
Pistols are the mod's sidearm class, and four variants exist.
Copper Pistol: a double copper ingot, a fire charge, a copper ingot, a short stick, and leather.
Golden Pistol: a double gold ingot, a fire charge, a gold ingot, a short stick, and leather.
Rose Gold Pistol: a double rose gold ingot, a fire charge, a rose gold ingot, and a short stick. Note that this recipe does not use leather.
Shinerite Pistol: a double shinerite ingot, a fire charge, a shinerite ingot, a short stick, and leather.
The pattern is straightforward: each pistol uses a doubled form of its metal, a single regular ingot of the same metal, a fire charge, a short stick, and — except for the rose gold version — leather.
Rose Gold Pistol Smithing
The
Rose Gold Pistol can also be obtained through smithing rather than crafting. A rose gold upgrade smithing template, a
Golden Pistol, and a rose gold ingot combine in a smithing transform to produce a
Rose Gold Pistol. This gives you a second route: build a
Golden Pistol first, then upgrade it.
Shotguns and Scatterguns
The larger firearms use more ingredients and follow their own layouts.
Iron Scattergun: a double iron ingot, two fire charges, two short sticks, a heavy iron ingot, and leather.
Diamond Shotgun: two double diamonds, two fire charges, a blaze rod, a short stick, and leather.
Notice that both of these recipes call for two fire charges instead of one, and the scattergun uses two short sticks. The
Diamond Shotgun substitutes a blaze rod for the second short stick and uses doubled diamonds as its primary metal component.
Magazines
Magazines are the ammunition feed for the mod's firearms. The facts provided here cover the crafting of pistols, shotguns, and scatterguns in detail, but do not describe magazine recipes. If you are planning a full loadout, treat magazines as a separate crafting concern from the guns themselves.
Planning Your Build
Because the recipes share so many ingredients, gathering in bulk pays off. Fire charges, short sticks, and leather appear across nearly every gun, so stockpiling these before you start saves trips back to the bench. Metal choice is the main decision: copper and iron are the entry points, gold and rose gold sit in the middle, and diamond and shinerite represent the upper tiers.
For the
Rose Gold Pistol, remember you have two options — craft it directly, or smith it from a
Golden Pistol using the rose gold upgrade smithing template. The smithing route may be preferable if you already have a
Golden Pistol on hand.
Each recipe is shaped, meaning the arrangement of ingredients on the crafting grid matters. Keep the doubled ingots, fire charges, sticks, and leather in their proper positions as you lay out each recipe.
