Genetics Materials Guide for Jurassic Reborn: Nucleotides, Storage, Processors, Enzymes, Agar and Petri Dishes
Genetics materials in Jurassic Reborn cover the supporting ingredients and machines you need before dinosaur DNA work can move forward. This guide covers
DNA Nucleotides,
DNA Storage, the
DNA Processor,
Advanced Enzyme,
Liquid Agar, and
Plant Cells in Petri Dish, using only their known recipes and processing methods.
DNA Nucleotides
DNA Nucleotides are produced by heating a
Potion. Three different heat sources work for this conversion:
- Smelting a
Potion in a furnace yields
DNA Nucleotides. - Blasting a
Potion in a blast furnace yields
DNA Nucleotides. - Cooking a
Potion on a campfire yields
DNA Nucleotides.
Because all three methods produce the same result, you can pick whichever heat source fits your setup. A campfire is the simplest option if you have not built furnaces yet, while a blast furnace processes the
Potion faster than a regular furnace if speed matters to you.
DNA Storage
DNA Storage is a crafted block. Its recipe is shaped and combines several components:
- 4
Copper Ingot - 3
Packed Ice - 1
Advanced Circuit - 1
Computer Screen
Gather the
Copper Ingot and
Packed Ice in the quantities shown, then add the
Advanced Circuit and
Computer Screen to complete the shaped recipe.
Packed Ice does not melt under normal conditions, so the storage block can sit in your base without special cooling arrangements.
DNA Processor
The
DNA Processor is another crafted block, and its recipe is also shaped. It requires:
- 4
Iron Ingot - 1
Computer Screen - 2
DNA Analyzer - 1
Disc Drive - 1
Keyboard
Note that the
DNA Processor calls for two
DNA Analyzer units, so plan on crafting or collecting a pair before you start. The
Disc Drive and
Keyboard round out the machine components, with
Iron Ingot supplying the structural frame.
Advanced Enzyme
Advanced Enzyme is made with a shapeless recipe, meaning the ingredients can sit anywhere in the crafting grid. The recipe combines:
- 1
Enzyme - 1
Blaze Powder - 1
Glowstone Dust
Start from a base
Enzyme, then add
Blaze Powder and
Glowstone Dust to upgrade it. Since the recipe is shapeless, you do not need to arrange the three ingredients in any particular pattern.
Liquid Agar
Liquid Agar comes from processing
Gracilaria. Four heat methods are available:
- Smelting
Gracilaria produces
Liquid Agar. - Blasting
Gracilaria produces
Liquid Agar. - Campfire cooking
Gracilaria produces
Liquid Agar. - Smoking
Gracilaria produces
Liquid Agar.
This gives you flexibility: a smoker or campfire works just as well as a furnace or blast furnace for turning
Gracilaria into
Liquid Agar. Choose the device you already have running.
Plant Cells in Petri Dish
Plant Cells in Petri Dish is assembled with a shapeless recipe. It combines:
Place both ingredients together in any arrangement in the crafting grid to get
Plant Cells in Petri Dish. This is the point where the agar and petri dish materials you prepared earlier feed into plant cell culture.
Putting the Materials Together
The genetics chain in Jurassic Reborn relies on several parallel preparation steps. Heat a
Potion into
DNA Nucleotides, process
Gracilaria into
Liquid Agar, and upgrade an
Enzyme into
Advanced Enzyme. In parallel, craft
DNA Storage from copper, packed ice, an advanced circuit, and a computer screen, and build the
DNA Processor from iron, a computer screen, two DNA Analyzers, a disc drive, and a keyboard. Once your
Petri Dish With Agar is ready, combine it with
Plant Cells to create
Plant Cells in Petri Dish. Keeping a stock of each intermediate item on hand will make later genetics work much smoother.
