Building Dinosaur Enclosures with Security Fences, Gates and Cameras
Building dinosaur enclosures in Jurassic Reborn means matching your fencing to the threat level of the animals inside. The mod gives you three tiers of fence base, gates to move between areas, and cameras to keep watch. This guide covers what each piece is made from and how the tiers relate to one another.
Low Security Fence Base
The entry-level option is the
Low Security Fence Base. It is crafted in a shaped recipe using two iron nuggets from the `#forge:nuggets/iron` tag, one
Iron Ingot, three
Stone, and one
Redstone Dust. This is the cheapest base to produce, which makes it a reasonable starting point for holding smaller or less dangerous dinosaurs while you gather better materials.
Medium Security Fence Base
The middle tier is the
Medium Security Fence Base. Its shaped recipe calls for two
Steel Nugget, three
Steel Ingot, three
Stone, and one
Redstone Dust. Steel is the key difference here, so you will need a steel supply before you can upgrade past the low tier.
High Security Fence Base
The top tier is the
High Security Fence Base. It is made with a shaped recipe of six
Steel Ingot and three
Medium Security Fence Base. Because it consumes medium bases as an ingredient, you should plan your production in stages: craft medium bases first, then feed them into the high security recipe. This is the base to use around your most dangerous animals.
Gates
To pass between enclosures, use the Jurassic Reborn Gate (Blue). It is crafted in a shaped recipe from seven
Reinforced Stone Panel, one
Steel Bars, and one
Blue Dye. Build your perimeter from fence bases and place gates at the points where keepers need to enter or move between paddocks.
Cameras
Surveillance comes in the form of the
Black Security Camera. You can make it two ways. The shaped recipe uses three
Iron Ingot, one
Glass Pane, two
Redstone Dust, and one
Advanced Circuit. Alternatively, a shapeless recipe converts a
White Security Camera plus one
Black Dye into the black version. If you already have white cameras on hand, the dye route saves you from crafting the electronics again.
Extra Fencing
For additional fencing material, there is the
Corrugated Steel Fence. Its shaped recipe takes four
Corrugated Steel and two
Steel Ingot.
Planning Your Build
A practical approach is to decide the security tier per paddock rather than for your whole park. Low bases suit calm herbivores, medium bases cover the middle ground, and high bases belong around anything that can break out or injure keepers. Gates should sit on the routes you actually use, so you are not crossing a high security paddock to reach a low security one. Cameras let you monitor areas without standing in them, and since the black camera can be produced from a white one with dye, you can standardise your setup once you have either variant available. Stock steel and redstone early, since every tier above low depends on them.
