Kaleidoscope Tavern: Barrel, Shaker and Pressing Tub

Kaleidoscope Tavern adds a brewing and pressing chain built around the Barrel, the Pressing Tub, and the grape crops that feed them. This guide covers how to plant and harvest Grapevine, how to press ingredients into juice, and how to brew wine in the Barrel.

Planting Grapes

Place a Trellis one block above the soil, then plant a Grapevine on it. The Grapevine will prioritize growing onto the Trellis above it. After that, it spreads horizontally to surrounding Trellis blocks.

When a Trellis with a Grapevine has an empty space below it, it will begin to bear grapes. Once the grapes are ripe, harvesting them with an empty hand yields 1-2 grapes. Harvesting with Shears yields 2-3 grapes.

Wild Generation

You can find Grapevine on trees in the wild while exploring. Similar to bee nests, using Bone Meal on a tree sapling near flowers also has a chance to generate Grapevine.

No tools are needed to break them — use an empty hand to obtain Grapevine. Grapevine can be planted under full blocks and leave blocks. Planted this way, it will grow downwards but will not bear grapes. Use Shears to prune a Grapevine, stopping its downward growth.

Using the Barrel

First, open the lid. Then add the fluid and any required ingredients. Once everything is ready, close the lid. Now simply wait patiently for the wine to brew. The longer it brews, the higher the quality of the wine.

Right-click the Barrel to check the brewing progress. Place a Glass Bottle under the tap and right-click it to bottle the finished wine.

Accessing Items in the Pressing Tub

Right-click the Pressing Tub with an itemStack to store it. The Pressing Tub can only hold one type of item at a time.

Right-click the Pressing Tub with an empty hand to take out 1 item. Sneak and right-click the Pressing Tub with an empty hand to take out all items.

Pressing Juice

Place pressable ingredients into the Pressing Tub. Jump and jump on the Pressing Tub to gradually press the ingredients into juice. However, if the item inside the Pressing Tub cannot be pressed, it will be scattered by the jumping.

Angled Variant

Placing a Pressing Tub against a wall creates an angled variant. Angled Pressing Tub blocks can still store items normally. However, angled Pressing Tub blocks cannot be used for pressing juice. Similarly, their contents will not be scattered by jumping.
