Let's Do Meadow Cheese, Felting and Where to Find the Chalets

The Meadow mod adds alpine terrain, dairy animals, and a set of structures scattered across its biomes. This guide covers the cheese-making chain, the felting materials you can gather, and how to locate the Chalet and its neighbours.

Where the Structures Spawn

Meadow structures are placed by rarity, measured in chunk regions. A smaller region number means you will run into the structure more often.

The Chalet generates in the `#meadow:has_structure/chalet` biome tag. Placement is one attempt per 49x49 chunk region, and structures must be at least 22 chunks apart.
The Chapel generates in `#meadow:has_structure/chapel`. It gets one attempt per 74x74 chunk region, with a minimum spacing of 27 chunks.
The Logging Camp generates in `#meadow:has_structure/logging_camp`. It gets one attempt per 30x30 chunk region, at least 28 chunks apart, and it overrides creature mob spawning.
The Monument generates in `#meadow:has_structure/monument`. It gets one attempt per 20x20 chunk region, at least 10 chunks apart, and it also overrides creature mob spawning.
The Observation Post generates in `#meadow:has_structure/observation_post`. It gets one attempt per 33x33 chunk region, at least 17 chunks apart, and it overrides creature mob spawning as well.

Of these, the Monument is the most common because its region is the smallest, while the Chapel is the rarest. The Chalet sits in the middle. If you are hunting for a specific one, pick a direction and keep travelling — the spacing rules mean you will never find two of the same structure crammed together.

Making Cheese

Cheese starts with Rennet. You produce it in a Cooking recipe: Egg plus Alpine Salt plus Glass Bottle yields two Rennet.

From there, Rennet is the single input for every cheese wheel. There are seven such recipes, each producing a different wheel:

Once you have a wheel, break it down at a Crafting station. Each wheel converts into four slices — for example, one Amethyst Cheese Wheel becomes four Amethyst Cheese Slice.

Cheese Slice is also a cooking ingredient. Combine Raw Buffalo Meat with Alpine Salt and a Cheese Slice to get two Buffalo Sausage with Cheese. Add Baked Potato, Cooked Rabbit, Bowl, Carrot, and Cheese Slice together and you get six Rabbit Stew.

Alpine Salt and Cooking

Alpine Salt is the backbone of Meadow cooking. You can cook Calcite into two Alpine Salt, or Limestone into four Alpine Salt — the limestone route is the better return.

Salt then upgrades plain food. Potato plus Alpine Salt gives four Baked Potato. Every raw meat follows the same pattern: Raw Beef becomes four Steak, Raw Chicken becomes four Cooked Chicken, Raw Cod becomes two Cooked Cod, and so on for Cooked Mutton, Cooked Porkchop, Cooked Rabbit, Cooked Salmon, and Cooked Buffalo Meat.

Two recipes are worth noting for utility. Six Rotten Flesh cook down into two Leather. Three Raw Buffalo Meat with Alpine Salt, Potato, and Carrot produce two Roasted Buffalo Ham.

Milk buckets are also craftable. Amethyst Cluster plus Alpine Salt plus Milk Bucket yields a Wooden Bucket of Amethyst Milk, while three Wheat plus a Wooden Bucket gives a Wooden Bucket of Grain Milk.

Felting and Alpine Ore

Felting relies on alpine flowers. Enzian and Tall Eriophorum each craft into Blue Dye, which is the starting point for dyed felt work.

Ore processing runs through Blasting. Alpine ores smelt into their standard outputs: Alpine Iron Ore to Iron Ingot, Alpine Gold Ore to Gold Ingot, Alpine Copper Ore to Copper Ingot, Alpine Coal Ore to Coal, Alpine Diamond Ore to Diamond, Alpine Emerald Ore to Emerald, Alpine Lapis Lazuli Ore to Lapis Lazuli, and Alpine Redstone Ore to Redstone Dust. Alpine Salt Ore blasts directly into Alpine Salt, which saves you the Calcite and Limestone route.
