Luki's Grand Capitals: Rebuilt Villages in Five Biomes
Luki's Grand Capitals replaces vanilla village generation with larger builds. This guide covers what it changes.
It registers no items or blocks
Zero pages, zero items, zero blocks, zero recipes. The entire mod is 7 structures.
That shape means it changes what generates rather than what you can make. Nothing here goes in your inventory, and a recipe lookup will correctly return nothing.
Five villages, one tier
Five village variants share a spacing of 50 with a separation of 35:
Village Desert, Village Plains, Village Savanna, Village Snowy and Village Taiga.
Identical settings across all five means biome decides which you get, not rarity. Whichever biome you are standing in determines the village you find, and no variant is harder to come by than another.
The separation is the interesting number
A separation of 35 against a spacing of 50 is unusually high — the two are close together, which forces villages well apart rather than letting them cluster. Expect isolated capitals rather than a dense cluster of settlements.
That is a deliberate contrast with vanilla, where villages can generate surprisingly near each other.
Two vanilla overrides
Pillager Outpost and Swamp Hut carry no spacing values of their own. That is the signature of a structure that overrides a vanilla one rather than adding a new one — the mod replaces what those builds look like while leaving vanilla's placement rules in charge.
So outposts and swamp huts appear exactly as often as they always did; they simply look different.
Both builds are identical
Version 1.1.3 on both lines, NeoForge for 1.21.1 and Forge for 1.20.1, with the same 7 structures.
What to expect
Larger, more elaborate villages in five biomes, plus reworked outposts and swamp huts. No items, no recipes, no progression — you install it and the world generates differently from that point on.
Existing chunks keep their old villages, so this is a mod to add at world creation rather than mid-playthrough.
How to tell an override from an addition
The Pillager Outpost and Swamp Hut entries carry no spacing or separation of their own, while the five villages carry 50 and 35. That difference is the tell: a structure with no placement values of its own is replacing a vanilla one and inheriting vanilla's rules, whereas a structure with explicit values is a new placement the mod controls.
It matters practically. The five villages generate on the mod's schedule; the outposts and huts generate exactly as often as they always did.
