Building Stone Walls and Metal Fences in Macaw's Fences

guide

Stone walls and iron fences in Macaw's Fences and Walls establish architectural boundaries, fortress ramparts, and courtyard gates using masonry and metalwork. Instead of basic cobblestone parapets, builders can employ grass-topped parapets, columnar pillar walls, modern masonry facades, and wrought iron fences across multiple architectural stones.

Masonry Walls and Parapets

The mod provides four distinct stone wall geometries for every primary rock variety, including stone, andesite, diorite, granite, blackstone, deepslate, mud brick, end brick, prismarine, and sandstone.

  • Crafting six units of Stone Grass Topped Wall requires two Cobblestone blocks, one Dirt block, and three Stone Bricks. The top row positions cobblestone on the left and right with dirt in the middle, while three stone bricks fill the lower row. The block features a built-in sod texture on its top surface, forming a sod-crowned parapet. Matching variants include Andesite Grass Topped Wall, Blackstone Grass Topped Wall, Deepslate Grass Topped Wall, and Granite Grass Topped Wall.
  • Crafting five units of Stone Pillar Wall requires three Stone Bricks across the top row and two Cobblestone blocks in the bottom corners, leaving the center slot empty. This configuration forms vertical architectural columns suitable for supporting bridge spans and grand archways.
  • Producing six units of Modern Stone Brick Wall requires five stone bricks and one cobblestone arranged in crafting, or a single stone bricks block placed directly into a stonecutter to yield one wall unit.

Railing Walls and Gates

Railing walls embed wrought metal balusters directly into dressed stone footings, creating terrace and bridge balustrades.

  • Crafting six units of Railing Stone Brick Wall requires five Stone Bricks and one Iron Bars in a crafting table, placing iron bars in the top-middle position flanked and underlined by masonry. Alternatively, one stone brick shaped in a stonecutter yields one railing wall.
  • Constructing one Stone Brick Railing Gate requires four Iron Bars and two Stone Bricks. Iron bars occupy the outer columns across two rows, while stone bricks fill the center column. A stonecutter also produces this gate directly from a single stone bricks block.

Metal Fences via Stonecutting

Wrought metal fences provide slender decorative security barriers without bulky stone pillars. All fourteen metal fence styles are fabricated efficiently by feeding Iron Bars into a stonecutter, with each iron bar yielding one decorative metal fence block.

Crafting Metal Fence Gates and Defense

Metal fences connect to dedicated double-hung swing gates that match their architectural design.
