MoreCobblemonTweaks Settings Guide: Where to Find and Configure Every Option

guide

MoreCobblemonTweaks is a client-side quality-of-life mod for Cobblemon that adds extra information and convenience features to the PC and to eggs. Everything it does is toggled through its own settings screen rather than through crafting or items, and a few features also rely on hotkeys you assign yourself.

Where the Settings Live

The mod's options are grouped under a More Cobblemon Tweaks section in its configuration interface. Each entry has a name, a short description of what it does, and in some cases a note about what it depends on. Some entries can be locked by the server you're playing on; when that happens, the option shows as overridden tooltip with the label Overridden by Server, meaning your local choice is ignored and the server's value wins.

PC Menu Features

Two settings affect the PC:

  • IV Display adds a small widget to the PC menu that shows the individual values of whichever Pokémon you're currently previewing.
  • Colored IVs makes those displayed values use colors that match the power items associated with each stat. This only works if IV Display is already turned on — the mod states plainly that Colored IVs requires IV Display to be enabled.
  • Multi-Select adds a button to the PC that lets you pick several Pokémon at once, so you can move or release them together instead of one at a time.
  • PC Box View adds a button to the PC that opens a box-style view of your storage.

Egg Lore Features

A larger group of options controls what you see on eggs:

  • Enhanced Egg Lore adds descriptive text to an egg listing various details about the Pokémon inside.
  • Egg Encryption Warning decides whether, when Enhanced Egg Lore is on and the egg's data is encrypted, the mod tells you in the lore that it can't read that data.
  • Shiny Egg Indicator shows a gold star when an egg contains a shiny.
  • Perfect IV Egg Indicator shows an aqua triangle when an egg has perfect individual values.
  • Minimum IV Egg Indicator shows a red hazard triangle when every individual value is zero.
  • Text Egg Indicators switches those markers from symbols to written text.

Every one of the indicator options and the text option depends on Enhanced Egg Lore being active; the mod lists this requirement explicitly for each. If you turn Enhanced Egg Lore off, none of the indicators will appear.

Encryption and Eggs

Egg data can be encrypted, and while it is, the mod cannot read what's inside. The mod warns you about this in the egg's lore with a message saying it is unable to read the data because of encryption. To fix this, encryption has to be turned off in the cobbreeding configuration — either on the server host's side or in your own config — and then you right-click the egg to decrypt it. Until that happens, the lore-based features have nothing to work with.

If reading an egg fails over and over, the mod reports that it errored repeatedly while trying to read that egg's data and suggests making sure the mod is current. A follow-up message asks you to report the problem if you are already up to date, and suggests turning Enhanced Egg Lore off until it is resolved. You may also see progress text such as Moving $s/$s Pokémon..., retry notices like Timed out $s time(s), Retrying..., and a final Timed out $s times, Last attempt. Eggs also show Egg Cycles Remaining: so you know how close they are to hatching.

Hotkeys

Some actions in this mod are bound to keys rather than buttons. Those bindings are not fixed by the mod — assign them yourself in the controls menu, then use the corresponding hotkey when you need the action.
