How to Toggle Additional Loot and Valuable Loot in More Mobs
More Mobs lets you control whether mobs drop extra items, including rare rewards like Dragon Breath, Totems of Undying, and Elytra. This guide explains how to reach the settings and switch these two loot options on or off.
Opening the Configuration
The mod is configured through its own interface rather than through crafting. You have two ways to reach the settings, depending on whether you want your changes to apply everywhere or only to one world.
To configure the mod for a single world, join that world and run the command /function more_mobs:settings. This opens the More Mobs Configuration screen for that world only.
The configuration screen also contains a Global Settings section. Anything you change there applies to all worlds at once. After adjusting a global setting, you must rejoin any world for the change to take effect.
The Two Loot Settings
The configuration screen lists two related options for extra drops.
- Add additional loot to some mobs — this is the broader option. When enabled, some mobs receive extra drops such as low value tools and low value fishing loot. Its default is Yes.
- Add additional valuable loot — this is a sub-option nested under the additional loot setting. When enabled, it adds high value rewards, including Dragon Breath, Totem of Undying, and Elytra. Its default is Yes.
Because Add additional valuable loot sits underneath the main additional loot option, the valuable loot setting only matters when additional loot itself is active. If you want rare drops like Elytra and Totems of Undying, make sure the main additional loot option is on as well as the valuable loot option.
How to Toggle Them
- Open the configuration using /function more_mobs:settings in the world you are playing, or use the Global Settings section if you want the change applied everywhere.
- Find Add additional loot to some mobs and set it to your preferred state. Leave it enabled if you want any extra drops at all.
- Find Add additional valuable loot and set it to your preferred state. Enable it to include Dragon Breath, Totem of Undying, and Elytra among the drops.
- If you changed a global setting, leave and rejoin a world so the new values take effect.
Things to Keep in Mind
Both loot options default to Yes, so extra drops are active unless you turn them off. Turning off the main additional loot option removes the extra drops entirely, which also makes the valuable loot sub-option irrelevant. If you only want to remove the rare items while keeping ordinary extra drops, disable Add additional valuable loot and leave the main option enabled.
The configuration screen also holds other unrelated settings, such as custom heads, head drops, upside down spiders, and daylight burning for undead mobs with custom heads. Those options do not affect loot and can be adjusted separately in the same screen.
