Folding and Upgrading the Midas Gold Sword in Mythic Metals
The 
Midas Gold Sword features a unique folding smithing mechanic that allows warriors to repeatedly hammer gold blocks into its blade. By tempering the blade with dense wealth, players can upgrade a humble golden weapon into the devastating 
Royal Midas Gold Sword.
Forging the Base Midas Gold Sword
Progression begins with mining 
Midas Gold Ore or 
Raw Midas Gold from subterranean depths. Smelting or blasting these materials produces 
Midas Gold Ingot items:
- Combine nine
Midas Gold Nugget items to form one Midas Gold Ingot. - Arrange nine Midas Gold Ingot items in a crafting grid to assemble one
Block of Midas Gold. - Craft the initial weapon by placing two Midas Gold Ingot items vertically above one wooden stick, producing one Midas Gold Sword.
At its base tier, the sword exhibits modest combat capabilities, but possesses the unique capacity to absorb additional compressed gold through smithing.
Acquiring Smithing Templates
Upgrading the sword requires specialized smithing templates:
Crafted Smithing Template for Midas Folding: Duplicated on a crafting table by placing eight Midas Gold Ingot items around one 
Netherrack block, or by combining eight nuggets with an existing template.
Smithing Template for Royal Midas: Duplicated by surrounding an existing royal template with seven Block of Midas Gold blocks and one Netherrack block.
Templates ensure the structural integrity of the blade as dense quantities of gold are beaten into the core.
The Folding Process
Folding takes place within the vanilla smithing table under the specialized folding transformation:
- First Folding Stage: Insert the Crafted Smithing Template in the left template slot, position the Midas Gold Sword in the central equipment slot, and place one Block of Midas Gold in the right addition slot.
- This process folds nine ingots worth of compressed gold directly into the blade, improving its durability, attack speed, and striking power. Repeated folding elevates the weapon into the
Gilded Midas Gold Sword.
Ascension to the Royal Midas Gold Sword
Once the blade has absorbed sufficient gold to become a Gilded Midas Gold Sword, it can undergo the ultimate royal ascension:
- Place the royal Smithing Template in the template slot.
- Place the Gilded Midas Gold Sword in the center equipment slot.
- Insert one final Block of Midas Gold into the additions slot.
Completing the smithing process transforms the weapon into the Royal Midas Gold Sword. This majestic broadsword possesses extraordinary attack damage and a gilded aesthetic worthy of subterranean emperors.
