Mining Kyber and Upgrading to Carmot Armor in Mythic Metals
Kyber Ingot and 
Carmot Ingot represent two interconnected stages of mid-to-late game armor progression in Mythic Metals. Players first forge resilient Kyber equipment, then transform it into radiant Carmot gear utilizing smithing table upgrades.
Mining Kyber Ore and Calcite Kyber Ore
Kyber occurs naturally in two distinct geological formations across the overworld:
- Standard
Kyber Ore: Generates across subterranean stone layers between Y level 12 and Y level 52 across overworld biomes. Veins contain small clusters of size three. 
Calcite Kyber Ore: Generates abundantly within subterranean calcite shells at negative elevations up to Y level 40. These large clusters contain up to sixteen blocks, making calcite geodes and shells exceptionally lucrative mining targets.
Smelting or blasting raw kyber yields Kyber Ingot items, which assemble into the baseline Kyber equipment suite: 
Kyber Sword, 
Kyber Pickaxe, 
Kyber Axe, 
Kyber Shovel, 
Kyber Hoe, 
Kyber Helmet, 
Kyber Chestplate, 
Kyber Leggings, and 
Kyber Boots.
Discovering Carmot Ore
Carmot Ore and its deepslate variant 
Deepslate Carmot Ore generate deep underground, primarily situated at lower deepslate depths up to Y level 10 around the boundary of the deepslate mantle. Veins generate in small clusters of four blocks. Smelting extracted 
Raw Carmot yields radiant pink Carmot Ingot items.
The Carmot Smithing Template
Transforming Kyber equipment into Carmot gear requires a specialized smithing template:
- Craft the template by placing one
Smooth Basalt in the center slot of a crafting table. - Insert four Carmot Ingot items in the cross positions (top, bottom, left, right).
- Place four
Diamond gems in the four corner slots. - This crafting recipe yields one
Crafted Smithing Template for Carmot upgrades. - Duplication: Combine one template with one Smooth Basalt, six carmot nuggets, and one Diamond to yield two templates.
Upgrading Equipment in the Smithing Table
Carmot gear cannot be crafted directly from raw ingots on a crafting bench; it must be upgraded from existing Kyber equipment inside a smithing table:
- Place the Crafted Smithing Template in the template slot.
- Insert a piece of Kyber equipment (Kyber Helmet, Kyber Chestplate, Kyber Leggings, Kyber Boots, or Kyber tools) in the base slot.
- Place one Carmot Ingot in the additions slot.
Completing the transform produces the corresponding Carmot piece, such as 
Carmot Helmet, 
Carmot Chestplate, 
Carmot Leggings, 
Carmot Boots, or 
Carmot Sword.
The Carmot Shield Attribute
Wearing Carmot armor activates the specialized Carmot Shield attribute. Unlike standard health regeneration, the Carmot Shield manifests as an active energy barrier overlaid on the player heads-up display. This barrier absorbs incoming physical and elemental impact damage before player health hearts are touched, automatically replenishing its shield points after avoiding damage for a brief duration.
