Smithing transforms form the central equipment progression system in Mythic Metals. Instead of crafting advanced gear from scratch on a crafting table, players enhance existing weapons and armor inside a smithing table using specialized templates and upgrade materials.
Understanding Smithing Table Mechanics
Every smithing transform requires three specific components aligned inside the vanilla smithing table interface:
- The Template Slot: Holds a specific smithing template that defines the upgrade pathway.
- The Base Equipment Slot: Holds the pre-requisite armor piece, weapon, or tool being upgraded.
- The Additions Slot: Holds the catalyst ingot, mineral chunk, or organic component that executes the transformation.
Templates are preserved during use when duplicating them on a crafting table with Netherrack or dimensional rocks and raw materials.
Major Armor and Tool Transform Pathways
The mod features diverse transform pathways spanning different tiers of mineral technology:
