Crafting Every Nichirin Sword Variant and Upgrade in Kimetsu no Yaiba
The Nichirin Sword is the central weapon in the Kimetsu no Yaiba mod, and this guide covers every known crafting path for its variants and upgrades, including the Bamboo and Cherry Blossom forms.
Base Nichirin Sword
Before you can make any of the upgraded versions, you need the standard
Nichirin Sword. This is a shapeless recipe, meaning the order of ingredients does not matter. You will need:
Scarlet Ore x2
Scarlet Iron Sand x2
Iron Ingot x1
Place all five items into your crafting grid, and the basic
Nichirin Sword will appear as the result. This sword is the foundation for the two variant upgrades described below.
Bamboo (Material Item)
There are two distinct ways to obtain
Bamboo, and it is important to understand that this is a separate material item, not a sword on its own.
The first method is a shaped crafting recipe. Surround the
Nichirin Sword with
Bamboo x8 in a full ring (all eight outer slots of the crafting grid), leaving the center slot empty. This will produce the
Bamboo item.
The second method is much simpler and acts as a reversal. If you already have a
Nichirin Sword (Bamboo) (described in the next section), you can place it alone in a crafting grid using a shapeless recipe. This will convert it back into the plain
Bamboo item, effectively undoing the upgrade.
Nichirin Sword (Bamboo)
The
Nichirin Sword (Bamboo) is an upgraded version of the base sword, sheathed in bamboo. To craft it, you need only a single
Bamboo item.
This is a shapeless recipe: place the
Bamboo item anywhere in your crafting grid, and the output will be the
Nichirin Sword (Bamboo). Note that this recipe does not require a separate
Nichirin Sword—the
Bamboo item itself is the only ingredient. This means you can cycle between the
Bamboo material and the
Nichirin Sword (Bamboo) freely using the two recipes above.
Nichirin Sword (Cherry Blossom)
The final known variant is the
Nichirin Sword (Cherry Blossom), which is decorated with cherry blossoms. This upgrade requires the base
Nichirin Sword as a component, not the bamboo version.
The crafting recipe is shaped. You must place
Cherry Blossoms x8 in all eight outer slots of the crafting grid, forming a complete ring, and place the
Nichirin Sword in the center slot. This will produce the
Nichirin Sword (Cherry Blossom).
Crafting Summary and Notes
Here is a quick reference for all recipes covered in this guide:
Nichirin Sword: Shapeless – Scarlet Ore x2 + Scarlet Iron Sand x2 + Iron Ingot
Bamboo (from sword): Shaped – Bamboo x8 surrounding a
Nichirin Sword
Bamboo (from bamboo sword): Shapeless –
Nichirin Sword (Bamboo)
Nichirin Sword (Bamboo): Shapeless –
Bamboo
Nichirin Sword (Cherry Blossom): Shaped – Cherry Blossoms x8 surrounding a
Nichirin Sword
Remember that the
Bamboo item and the
Nichirin Sword (Bamboo) are interchangeable through their respective recipes. The
Cherry Blossom variant, however, can only be made from the standard
Nichirin Sword, so if you want both upgraded forms, you will need to craft two base swords. Gather your Scarlet Ore, Scarlet Iron Sand, Iron Ingots, Bamboo, and Cherry Blossoms beforehand to streamline the process.
