Locating Every New Biome and Structure in Kimetsu no Yaiba

guide

This guide covers how to find all the new biomes and structures added by the Kimetsu no Yaiba mod, using the climate and generation rules provided.

The New Biomes

The mod introduces six distinct biomes, each with its own climate conditions. Knowing these conditions helps you predict where they will appear in your world.

  • Dream: This biome has a temperate climate with a temperature of 0.6. It does not experience rain, making it a dry, mild area.
  • Mt Natagumo: A hot biome with a temperature of 1.0. This is a hostile area, as it is the only biome where spider and cave spider monsters naturally spawn.
  • Mt Sagiri: Another hot biome with a temperature of 1.0, but without the special monster spawns of Mt Natagumo.
  • Mt Yoko: Set to a hot temperature of 1.0, this biome is also completely rain-free.
  • Mugen Biome: Like Mt Yoko, it is hot (temperature 1.0) and has no rain. This biome is unique because it is the only location where the Mugen Castle structure can generate.

The New Structure

The mod adds one major structure, which is tied to a specific biome.

  • Mugen Castle: This structure generates exclusively within the Mugen Biome. It does not appear in any other biome. The generation rules are very specific: the game makes one attempt to place it per 1x1 chunk region, and these attempts must be at least 0 chunks apart. In practice, this means that within any given 1x1 chunk area, there is a single chance for the castle to appear, and no two castles will generate in the exact same chunk location.

Practical Search Strategies

Because biomes in Minecraft generally follow temperature and humidity patterns, you can use the climate data to narrow your search.

  • Look for hot, dry lands: Since most of the new biomes (Mt Natagumo, Mt Sagiri, Mt Yoko, and Mugen Biome) are hot with a temperature of 1.0, they will most likely generate in areas you would normally associate with deserts or savannas. Search in these warmer regions of your world.
  • Check for rain absence: The Dream, Mt Yoko, and Mugen Biomes all have no rain. If you find a hot or temperate area where it never rains, you are likely close to one of these biomes.
  • Find Mt Natagumo by its mobs: If you are in a hot biome and suddenly encounter large numbers of spiders and cave spiders spawning on the surface, you have found Mt Natagumo. This is the easiest way to confirm that biome's identity.
  • Hunt for Mugen Castle inside the Mugen Biome: Once you locate a hot, rainless area that you believe is the Mugen Biome, search carefully within it. The castle is not guaranteed to be in every such biome, but it can only spawn there. Since the generation attempt is one per 1x1 chunk region, explore the biome thoroughly by walking in a grid pattern to cover all chunks.

Important Notes on Generation

  • The Mugen Castle does not generate in any of the other five biomes. Do not waste time looking for it in a Dream or Mt Sagiri biome.
  • The "at least 0 chunks apart" rule for the castle effectively means there is no minimum distance requirement between two castles, but each 1x1 chunk region only gets one attempt. This prevents multiple castles from stacking in the same chunk, but you could theoretically find two castles in adjacent chunk regions if the generation attempt succeeds in both.

By combining the climate clues with the mob spawn information, you can systematically search your world and reliably locate each of the six biomes and the single structure the mod has to offer.
