Paladin's Furniture Mod Guide: Cooking With Stoves, Microwaves, and Toasters
Paladin's Furniture Mod adds working kitchen appliances, and this guide covers how to operate the Stove, Microwave, and Toaster, including what each one can cook.
Using the Stove
The Stove combines two cooking methods in a single block. It behaves like a campfire and a smoker at the same time, so you can pick whichever style suits what you are making.
For the campfire-style function, hold a piece of food and right-click the Stove with it. The food begins cooking right away. Once it finishes, right-click the Stove again to take the finished item back.
For the smoker-style function, shift right-click the Stove while your hand is empty. A GUI opens, and it operates much like the interface of a furnace or a smoker. Load your items in and let it work through them the same way you would with those blocks.
Crafting the Microwave
Making a Microwave requires three things: redstone dust, a chest, and the material that matches the microwave you want. Combine them at the Wood Working Table, following the arrangement the table displays for that recipe. Once the layout is correct, the Microwave is ready to take.
Cooking With the Microwave
The Microwave skips fuel entirely. You do not need to feed it coal, wood, or anything else to keep it running. Despite that difference, every recipe that works in a smoker will also work in the Microwave, so anything you would normally smoke can be prepared here instead.
To operate it, right-click the Microwave. Its GUI opens. Keep in mind that it handles a single item at a time, so you cannot queue up a stack or run multiple things at once. After placing your item, press the start button to begin cooking.
Crafting the Toaster
A Toaster needs redstone dust and two iron to make. Bring these to the Wood Working Table and arrange them according to the recipe shown there. Once assembled, you have a working Toaster.
Cooking With the Toaster
Like the Microwave, the Toaster runs without any fuel at all. You never need to stock it with burnable material. It also accepts the full range of smoker recipes, meaning the same foods you would cook in a smoker can be prepared in the Toaster.
Choosing Between Them
All three appliances share the ability to cook smoker recipes, so the choice often comes down to how you prefer to interact with them. The Stove gives you two options in one block: a quick right-click method that works like a campfire, and a full GUI that works like a smoker. The Microwave and Toaster both free you from gathering fuel, and both use smoker recipes, but the Microwave asks you to open its interface and press start for each single item, while the Toaster is the simpler build of the two, requiring only redstone dust and iron.
Whichever appliance fits your kitchen, remember the shared rule: if a recipe works in a smoker, it works in these machines. Set them up near your storage and cooking area so you can move food in and out quickly.
