Chairs, Tables, Coffee Tables, Desks, and Beds in Paladin's Furniture Mod
Paladin's Furniture Mod adds chairs, tables, coffee tables, desks, and beds for furnishing rooms, giving you seated spots, flat surfaces, work areas, and sleeping furniture that match the wood or stone you build with.
Chairs
Chairs come in many varieties, along with other blocks you can sit on. The materials differ by design, so check what each chair calls for before you start. Wood-based chairs generally want planks and logs. The wood type is flexible: wherever a recipe lists oak, swap in the wood you actually want the finished chair to use, and the result changes to match.
Sitting down is simple. Left click a chair and you are seated on it. Press shift to stand back up.
Chairs also tuck away. If you shift click a chair with an empty hand while it sits in front of a table, the chair slides into the table. This is handy for clearing floor space or arranging a neat dining setup without leaving chairs sticking out.
Tables
Tables are available in multiple designs. Depending on which one you pick, the recipe uses either wood materials or stone materials. Wood tables take planks and logs. Stone tables take stone together with the polished block. As with chairs, the specific wood or stone type is yours to choose: replace the oak shown in the recipe with the material you want the table made from.
Coffee Tables
Coffee tables exist in a range of styles meant to pair with the other furniture. Their recipes follow the same pattern as regular tables. Wood versions need planks and logs; stone versions need stone and the polished block. Swap the oak for whichever wood or stone type you prefer, and you get a coffee table in that material.
Desks and Their Cabinets
Desks come in different kinds, and each desk has a matching cabinet. The material rules are the same as the tables above. A wood desk uses planks and logs, while a stone desk uses stone and the polished block. To change the look, replace the oak in the recipe with the wood or stone type you want the desk to be. Because the cabinets match the desks, you can build a coordinated desk-and-cabinet set in a single material.
Beds
Beds have many variations. Crafting one starts with a vanilla bed, which you combine with planks and a fence. The exact planks and fence depend on the bed style and wood type you are aiming for, so the recipe shifts with your choice.
Bunk beds have an extra option: bunk ladders. Craft them and place them on the bunk bed to reach the upper level. The same ladders work as ordinary ladders anywhere else you place them, so they are not limited to bunk bed use.
Furnishing a Room
A practical approach is to settle on one wood or stone type first, then build your chairs, tables, coffee tables, and desks from that same material so everything matches. Add beds in a style that suits the room, and use bunk ladders where a bunk bed needs access. Remember the small interactions: left click to sit, shift to get up, and shift click with an empty hand to push a chair into a table in front of it.
