Finding and Using the Settings in Particular ✨ for Minecraft

guide

Particular ✨ is a Minecraft utility mod that adds a collection of visual and environmental effects, and everything it does is controlled through its interface and hotkeys rather than through crafting recipes. This guide covers how to open that interface and locate the settings you want.

Opening the Interface

Particular ✨ is operated entirely through its own interface and hotkeys. To bring up the interface, use the corresponding hotkey and set it in the controls menu if it is not already assigned to something convenient. Once the interface is open, you can browse the available features and adjust them to your liking.

How the Settings Are Organized

The mod groups its options by effect. Each entry you see in the interface corresponds to one behaviour, and most of them are simple toggles or values you can change directly. The sections below describe what each setting controls.

Particle and Effect Settings

  • Frequency Modifiers — adjusts how often certain effects appear.
  • Chest Bubbles from Soul Sand — controls the bubbles that rise from soul sand beneath chests.
  • Water Drip Ripples — controls the ripples produced by dripping water.
  • Cake Eating Particles — controls the particles shown when cake is eaten.
  • Emissive Lava Drips — controls the glowing lava drip effect.
  • Falling Leaves Settings — groups the options that govern falling leaves.

Temperature Settings

Two related values let you define a temperature range:

  • Minimum Temperature — sets the lower bound of the range.
  • Maximum Temperature — sets the upper bound of the range.

Adjust these together so the range matches what you want.

Laying Flat Settings

  • Lay Flat on the Ground — controls whether the lay-flat-on-the-ground behaviour is active.
  • Right Angle Snap When Laying Flat — controls whether the orientation snaps to right angles while laying flat.

Cave Dust Settings

  • Cave Dust Settings — groups the options for cave dust.
  • Acceleration Change Chance — controls the chance that acceleration changes for cave dust.

Practical Tips for Finding What You Need

Because the interface is organised by effect name, the quickest way to find a setting is to look for the effect you have noticed in game. If bubbles near chests bother you, look for Chest Bubbles from Soul Sand. If water drips create ripples you would rather not see, look for Water Drip Ripples. The names in the interface match the effects themselves, so you can usually guess the right entry from what you are seeing.

Grouped settings such as Falling Leaves Settings and Cave Dust Settings contain more than one option, so open those groups when a single toggle does not cover everything you want to change. For the temperature values, remember that Minimum Temperature and Maximum Temperature work as a pair, and changing only one may not produce the result you expect.

If a hotkey does not respond, the usual cause is that it has not been assigned. Open the controls menu and set the corresponding hotkey there, then return to the interface and continue adjusting your settings.
