PneumaticCraft Repressurized: Pressure, Air, and Machines

guide

PneumaticCraft: Repressurized is an industrial tech mod with a unique power system based on compressed air pressure. This guide covers its distinctive approach.

Pressure as power

Instead of a generic energy number, PneumaticCraft runs on air pressure. Compressors turn heat or other inputs into compressed air stored in your machine network, and machines consume that pressurized air to work. Pressure must be managed — too much and a machine can burst — which makes the power system an engaging part of the mod rather than an afterthought.

Building up

You start by generating pressure and piping it to basic machines, then expand into the mod's original automation solutions. The tech tree covers pressurized processing, assembly and logistics, all driven by keeping your air network at the right pressure.

Powerful armor

A highlight of the mod is its Pneumatic Armor, a very powerful, upgradable suit driven by compressed air that grants a range of abilities. Working toward it is a common long-term goal. PneumaticCraft rewards players who enjoy managing a genuinely different power system, so start small with compressors and grow your pressurized base from there.

Choose a compressor by what your base already has

Air is the mod's power, and there is a generator for almost any situation:

  • Air Compressor — burns any solid fuel a vanilla furnace accepts, and produces a base of 10 mL of air per tick
  • Advanced Air Compressor — the tier-2 version, 50 mL per tick base and safe up to 20 bar, and it accepts speed upgrades
  • Advanced Liquid Compressor — the same tier-2 figures, fed by fuel liquid instead of solid
  • Thermal Compressor — makes air from a temperature difference across opposite horizontal sides; the steeper the gradient, the more output
  • Solar Compressor — needs a clear line to direct sun, so it stops indoors, at night and in rain
  • Manual Compressor — the early one: hold right-click and it converts your hunger into pressure
  • Electrostatic Compressor — a tier-2 unit that takes its energy from lightning

The manual compressor is the honest starting point. It costs nothing but food and gets you enough pressure to build the first real generator.

Pressure is a limit, not just a number

Tier-2 compressors are rated to 20 bar, and that rating is the thing to watch — running a machine past what it is built for is how bases explode in this mod. Safety valves exist for that reason.

The machine list

Beyond 288 crafting recipes (280 on 1.20.1), the processing categories are Stonecutting (22 on 1.21.1, 16 on 1.20.1), Pressure Chamber (15 on both), Assembly Drill (4) and Assembly Laser (4 on 1.21.1, 3 on 1.20.1), plus small Explosion Crafting, Heat Frame Cooling and Refinery Controller lists of 3 each and a 2-entry Compressor Upgrade Crafting category.

Amadron carried 12 recipes on 1.20.1 and none on 1.21.1 — the trading side of the mod is absent from the newer build's recipe list.

Scale

325 pages across 164 items and 161 blocks, on 8.2.23 (1.21.1) and 6.0.23 (1.20.1).
