Quark Building Blocks: Stonecutting and the Block Palette
Quark building blocks cover a wide range of decorative and functional pieces, and the 
Stonecutter-driven recipes are only part of the picture. The mod's recipe set also includes a deep crafting tree for wood, stone, and storage blocks, plus a few processing routes that turn raw materials into finished ones. This guide covers the block and item names you will actually type into a crafting grid, a furnace, or a blast furnace, so you can plan a build without guessing.
Wood and Derived Blocks
Wood processing in Quark starts from the basic logs and planks and branches outward. 
Acacia Log converts into Acacia Chest in batches, and 
Acacia Planks alone also produces a single Acacia Chest. Combining Acacia Chest with a 
Tripwire Hook gives you an Acacia Trapped Chest.
Planks feed several other recipes. Acacia Planks plus 
Book yields 
Acacia Bookshelf, while Acacia Planks with 
Stick produces 
Acacia Ladder. Leaves are not wasted: 
Acacia Leaves alone compresses into 
Acacia Leaf Carpet, and Acacia Leaves combined with Acacia Log gives 
Acacia Leaf Hedge.
For shape variants, 
Acacia Wood becomes 
Acacia Post, and 
Vertical Acacia Planks can be converted back into Acacia Planks. Slabs and vertical slabs are interchangeable in both directions: 
Acacia Slab makes 
Acacia Vertical Slab, and Acacia Vertical Slab makes Acacia Slab.
Stone and Brick Variants
Stone follows the same pattern of base block, then slabs, stairs, walls, and vertical slabs. 
Polished Andesite converts into 
Andesite Bricks. From there, Andesite Bricks produces 
Andesite Brick Slab, 
Andesite Brick Stairs, and 
Andesite Brick Wall. The slab and vertical slab pair works both ways: Andesite Brick Slab makes 
Andesite Brick Vertical Slab, and Andesite Brick Vertical Slab makes Andesite Brick Slab.
Polished Andesite Slab is the input for 
Andesite Pillar. Plain andesite shapes follow the same reversible logic: 
Andesite Slab converts to 
Andesite Vertical Slab, and Andesite Vertical Slab converts back to Andesite Slab.
Cobblestone is not left out. 
Cobblestone Bricks smelts into 
Stone Bricks, giving you a furnace route to a classic block.
Storage and Crates
Compacting resources into blocks and unpacking them again is handled by crate recipes. 
Apple compresses into 
Apple Crate, and Apple Crate unpacks back into Apple. This pattern lets you store bulk food in a single block slot and retrieve it later without loss.
Smelting and Blasting
Raw metal blocks can be finished in either a furnace or a blast furnace. 
Block of Raw Copper, 
Raw Copper Bricks, 
Block of Raw Gold, 
Raw Gold Bricks, 
Block of Raw Iron, and 
Raw Iron Bricks all convert into their finished counterparts: 
Block of Copper, 
Block of Gold, and 
Block of Iron respectively. The same conversions appear in both the smelting and blasting recipe sets, so either furnace type works.
A few other smelting recipes are worth knowing. 
Bone yields 
Bone Meal. 
Dirty Glass smelts into 
Glass, and 
Glass Shard can be crafted directly into Dirty Glass through an exclusion recipe. 
Moss Block smelts into 
Moss Paste, and 
Soul Sandstone smelts into 
Smooth Soul Sandstone. A 
Trowel can be smelted or blasted down into 
Iron Nugget.
Campfire Cooking
Campfire cooking handles at least one food item: 
Raw Crab Leg cooks into 
Cooked Crab Leg over a campfire rather than in a furnace.
Where to Find Materials
The Glimmering Weald is a temperate biome and a source of Stoneling creatures. It also spawns the usual hostile mobs, including Spider, Zombie, Zombie Villager, Skeleton, Creeper, and Slime, so bring appropriate gear when collecting materials there.
Practical Notes
The crafting recipe set is large, and the smithing rune recipes add further transformations on top of the ones listed here. When in doubt, check whether a block has a vertical slab or post variant, since Quark tends to provide both directions of conversion. For raw metals, remember that bricks and blocks of raw material both finish into the same output, so you can choose whichever input you have on hand.
