Refined Storage Storage: Disks, Blocks, and Fluids
Refined Storage scales from a single disk to a massive warehouse, and knowing the storage tiers lets you plan capacity. This guide covers item and fluid storage.
Item storage tiers
Item storage comes as Storage Disks (used in a Disk Drive) and Storage Blocks (standalone). Both climb the same ladder — 1k, 4k, 16k and larger — where each tier's part is crafted from four of the previous processor plus lower parts. A larger part means far more item types and counts stored.
Fluid storage
Fluids use their own line of Fluid Storage Parts, disks and blocks measured in buckets — 64B, 256B, 1024B, 4096B and up — built the same way with processors and Quartz Enriched Iron. Keep fluids on dedicated fluid storage rather than mixing them with items.
External storage
The 
External Storage device exposes an existing chest or tank to the network, so you can fold vanilla and modded inventories into your Grid without converting everything to disks. Between tiered disks, blocks, fluid storage and external storage, Refined Storage lets your capacity grow exactly as far as your processor supply allows.
