Refined Storage Storage: Disks, Blocks, and Fluids
Refined Storage storage comes in two families: item storage and fluid storage. Both follow the same pattern, with a part at the core, a disk built around that part, and a block that holds the part in the world. Any storage device connected to the same network is reachable through one Grid interface, so the inventories of many devices can be viewed in a single unified GUI.
Storage Parts
Every item storage tier starts from a part. 
1k Storage Part is made from 
Silicon x4, 
Quartz Enriched Iron, glass blocks x3, and 
Redstone Dust. 
4k Storage Part is made from 
Basic Processor x4, Quartz Enriched Iron, and 1k Storage Part x3 with Redstone Dust. 
16k Storage Part is made from 
Improved Processor x4, Quartz Enriched Iron, and 4k Storage Part x3 with Redstone Dust.
Fluid parts work the same way. 
64B Fluid Storage Part is the base, and 
256B Fluid Storage Part is made from Basic Processor x4, Quartz Enriched Iron, and 64B Fluid Storage Part x3 with empty buckets. 
1024B Fluid Storage Part is made from Improved Processor x4, Quartz Enriched Iron, and 256B Fluid Storage Part x3 with empty buckets. 
4096B Fluid Storage Part is made from 
Advanced Processor x4, Quartz Enriched Iron, and 1024B Fluid Storage Part x3 with empty buckets.
Processors themselves are smelted from raw forms: 
Raw Basic Processor becomes Basic Processor, 
Raw Improved Processor becomes Improved Processor, and 
Raw Advanced Processor becomes Advanced Processor. Silicon is smelted from quartz gems.
Storage Disks
A disk is the portable form of storage. Each item disk can be crafted two ways: glass blocks x2, Redstone Dust x3, the matching storage part, and Quartz Enriched Iron x3, or a 
Storage Housing plus the matching storage part. This gives 
1k Storage Disk, 
4k Storage Disk, and 
16k Storage Disk.
Fluid disks follow the identical pattern, producing 
256B Fluid Storage Disk, 
1024B Fluid Storage Disk, and 
4096B Fluid Storage Disk from their matching parts.
Storage Blocks
A block is the placed form of storage. Each item block is made from Quartz Enriched Iron x6, the matching storage part, a 
Machine Casing, and Redstone Dust. This produces 
1k Storage Block, 
4k Storage Block, and 
16k Storage Block.
Fluid blocks use the same recipe shape, producing 
256B Fluid Storage Block, 
1024B Fluid Storage Block, and 
4096B Fluid Storage Block from their matching parts.
Recoloring
Most Refined Storage devices can be recolored. A recoloring recipe takes one colored variant and returns the same device in another color, covering

Upgrades
Enchanted books can be applied as upgrades. The recipes include 
Silk Touch Upgrade and the fortune upgrades, covering fortune levels 1 through 3.
Putting It Together
Build the part first, then choose whether you want it portable or placed. A disk carries storage with you, while a block stays in the network. Connect either to the same network and the contents appear in the Grid alongside everything else, which is what makes a Refined Storage network expandable without adding a separate interface for every device.
