Resurrection Items

Two items in the mod can bring you back from death, but they work differently.

Angelheart Vial – When you take fatal damage, this vial activates automatically. It resurrects you once, then the vial breaks and is gone. It does not restore your health to full, so be prepared to heal quickly after revival.

Phoenix Down – This is a stronger version of the Angelheart Vial. Upon fatal damage, it resurrects you with full health. After it is used, it does not break completely; instead, it reverts to an Angelic Feather. This means you can potentially restore or reuse it later, but the feather itself is not the same as the original Phoenix Down.

Damage Absorption Items

Several items reduce or negate specific types of environmental damage, but they consume hunger as a cost. Keep food on hand when using these.

Infernal Claws – Fire damage, such as from lava, flames, or burning, is absorbed by these claws. Instead of losing health to fire, you lose hunger points. If your hunger is empty, the claws cannot protect you, so monitor your food bar carefully in hot areas.

Kraken Shell – Drowning damage is absorbed by this shell. While underwater without air, the shell converts the damage you would take into hunger loss. This lets you stay submerged longer, but only as long as you have food to spare.

Twilight Cloak – This cloak does not absorb damage, but it provides a major survival advantage: it makes you invisible while you are in darkness. This is useful for avoiding hostile mobs that would otherwise spot you in caves or at night. The invisibility only works in low-light conditions, so stepping into bright light will reveal you.

Status Effect Protection

Witherless Rose – This rose grants immunity to the Wither status effect. The Withering effect slowly drains your health over time, and it is commonly inflicted by Wither skeletons and the Wither boss. To make the rose function, you must enchant it with Nether Stars. Once enchanted, simply holding the rose in your inventory protects you from being withered. As long as you carry it, the Wither effect cannot harm you.

Practical Usage Tips

For resurrection items, always keep one in your inventory when exploring dangerous areas like the Nether or deep caves. The Phoenix Down is the better choice if you have it, because full health on revival gives you a chance to escape or fight back. The Angelheart Vial is a lighter backup, but it leaves you vulnerable after revival.

For the damage absorption items, remember that hunger is your new health bar. Carry cooked food or other reliable food sources. If you plan to cross lava or swim long distances, eat before you start so your hunger bar is full.

The Twilight Cloak is best for stealth builds or for moving through monster-filled dark areas without drawing attention. It does not protect you from damage, so combine it with armor.

The Witherless Rose is essential for fighting the Wither or exploring Nether fortresses where Wither skeletons spawn. Enchant it with Nether Stars before you go, and keep it in your hotbar or inventory at all times during those encounters.

Combining Items

You can use these items together for layered defense. For example, wear the Twilight Cloak to avoid detection, carry the Infernal Claws for fire zones, and keep a Phoenix Down as your final safety net. The Witherless Rose covers you against the Wither, while the Kraken Shell handles underwater travel. Each item has a specific role, so choose based on your destination and the threats you expect.
