Movement, Teleportation, and Utility Gear in Reliquary Reincarnations
This guide covers the movement, teleportation, and environmental utility items found in Reliquary Reincarnations, focusing on how to use each tool effectively.
Ender Staff
The
Ender Staff is a teleportation tool that consumes ender pearls to function. When you use it, the staff spends a pearl to instantly transport you to the point where you are aiming. However, the staff is not a persistent gateway—it is currently bound to nowhere. This means each use is a direct, one-off teleport based on your immediate line of sight, rather than a recall to a fixed, pre-set location. Keep a steady supply of ender pearls in your inventory if you plan to rely on this staff for rapid cross-terrain movement or escaping tight spots.
Rending Gale
The
Rending Gale is a versatile wind-based tool with three distinct functions, and you switch between them by holding the Shift key and scrolling your mouse wheel. Its primary mode grants you the ability to fly, giving you sustained aerial mobility similar to creative flight. The second mode allows you to push mobs away from you or pull them closer, which is useful for crowd control or herding creatures. The third mode is situational: if you activate it while it is raining, you can shoot lightning bolts at your targets. Because the lightning function requires rain, this mode is weather-dependent, so plan your combat around storms or use it as a dramatic finisher when conditions allow.
Sojourner's Staff
The
Sojourner's Staff is a long-range torch placer. It consumes torches from your inventory as fuel for its effect. When you use it, you can place torches at a considerable distance, far beyond your normal reach. This long-distance placement is not free, however—it costs extra resources beyond the torch itself. This makes the staff ideal for lighting up dangerous caves or ravines from a safe perch, but you should budget your torch supply carefully, as the added cost means you will burn through your stock faster than manual placement.
Lantern of Paranoia
The
Lantern of Paranoia automates light management. Once you activate it by shift-right-clicking, it will automatically place torches in any unlit areas around you. You do not need to aim or click for each torch; the lantern handles the placement on its own as you move through dark spaces. This is a passive utility item that keeps your immediate surroundings lit, reducing the chance of hostile mob spawns while you are exploring or working in dim environments. Toggle it on when entering a cave and off when you are in well-lit bases to conserve your torch reserves.
Emperor's Chalice
The
Emperor's Chalice functions as an infinite water source, effectively an unending water bucket. It has two modes that you toggle by enabling or disabling the item. When the drain function is enabled, the chalice removes water from the world, which is useful for clearing out pools or underwater areas. When the drain function is disabled, the chalice places water in the world like a standard bucket. Additionally, you can drink directly from the chalice. Drinking restores your hunger bar, but this benefit comes at a cost: it exchanges your health for food, so only drink when you are low on hunger and have surplus health to spare.
Infernal Chalice
The
Infernal Chalice is the lava counterpart to the Emperor's Chalice. It stores lava within itself, allowing you to carry a portable supply of the substance. More importantly, holding or using this chalice grants you protection from lava damage. This makes it an excellent tool for nether exploration or any task that requires you to traverse or work near lava pools, as it mitigates the primary environmental hazard associated with molten rock.
